Ok so I figured I would start a build thread... I have most of the parts I need to begin, so will post as and when I complete anything...

The hatch as I got her.... There is a wee bit of rust but nothing major really, some under the driver's guard, and the passenger floor will need replacing too.

While I had the vette on the hoist I trial fitted the brake caliper... I couldn't believe it, the bloody thing bolted straight up! Obviously I have to play with brake rotor offset and make a hub adaptor for the stud pattern change, but i don't have to modify the brake mount at all. From outside From inside, original chevette bolts

I'll have a dig around for a link for you yammies. For brake rotors, has the diameters, and all the critical measurements, you may be able to find something to use.. Thats bloody good news!

I plan on adapting the hubs to suit the commodore stud pattern anyway, so will probably run factory commodore rotors if the diameter is right. as I plan on running flares, this should mean I don't have to worry about wierd offset wheels the only real issue is it appears to foul on the lower arm slightly, but I'll let you know when I get to that bit... suffice to say vy commodore has the same caliper bolt spacing as chevette...

There's a Volvo and Auidi 280mm disk thats like 2mm differant offset to a Gemini disk which might work on the Vette. I would look at adapting VL on front disks ii you want to use the holden stud all you need to do is have shims machined up for the stub axle. Or just get some hoppers hubs from Oz which would be the best option.

Yammies, I think that is my old mates car, that he bought in the SI - if so, diff was VERY!!! noisy and right rear was dinged where a hit and run clipped it. IIRC, it was otherwise pretty good, esp' for the mileage!

I picked up another rough hatch and a rough 4 door as well. if anyone needs any 4 door bits let me know.... if they haven't rusted away! As I said earlier, there are a few dings and dents, but nothing major. passenger floor is shot, but not a hard fix really, i guess I'll just have to spend a few hours putting all the ridges in before welding in a dirty big patch. The plan is to remove the front guards and media blast the entire car, repair anything that needs it, and start from there

Haha, as a BoP car, it's not my mates. From the workshop pic's, looks like you're nicely connected - jealous much!
