Yeah swaping mounts brings it foward heaps so much you'll need the d-shaft lenghtened but thats better than messing with the paint altough you cant see it really. Ecu will be a mad mish aparently heaps of bits like speed sensors etc which are in the Piazza dash.

How far forward does it bring it when swapping the mounts? I haven't got around to checking it all out yet, just stripped it bare in the last few days.
What about slotting the engine mounts instead? I've also seen people using 6mm spacers to raise it for some reason, I need to look into it all again. If it's going to cost me I'll just get the grinder out ;D

40-50mm from memory you might need to cut the gear lever hole out and maybe even the console or lever.
I'm not sure about the 6mm spacer thing my sump only has 3mm of crearance on the steering rack but it it never hits. I actualy ground a few high spots off the rack just incase. If you bring the engine foward maybe the sump will hit.
You could slot all the mounting hole's and get enough. Slot it where it bolts to the engine then where it sits over the stud on the rubber part and then again where the rubber part bolts to the crossmember that might give you enough. But again the issues the d-shaft mines pulled out 15mm from standard I would'nt go more than 20mm without lengthening.

Hey Jase, the standard ignition doesn't need the ecu does it?
Just thinking about running fuel only megasquirt until I modify it further then switch to e1 dizzy or something in the future.

Cheers Jase thought that may be the case.
I got my heater plumbing sorted after work today, should have done it ages ago but it's really getting cold in the mornings now. Just need a pipe from the heater to the drivers windscreen vent.

Yep she's a bit stuffed, fixable but it has bogged up rust holes in the sills etc, took most of the drivetrain out and lots of random bits for the silver TX as it had previously been used as a parts car.

Stripped the 4z down last week and started tidying up the ports while the head is off, everything looks to be in pretty good condition. It has had a big end grind at some stage as the bearings are .25 oversize. I struggled to find a full gasket kit but got one in the end. Started by scribing the gasket onto the exhaust ports so I can match them, also scribed onto the exhaust manifold so I can do that too. Still lots to do on the exhaust side as you can see. Inlet side 90% done. (still got 3 to do) I'll be leaving a stoned finish as I can't see any point spending hours polishing it for un-noticeable gains. Block cleaned up and painted ready to go.

Cheers, no one is really sure what the nozzle is, some form of emissions thing no doubt.
Just sourcing a 4ze1 dizzy and especially the manifold with injector rail as they use modern injectors not stupid hosetail ones like Piazza's do, so I can run a bigger turbo and injectors in the future.
Been working on a few cars doing panel and paint jobs at the moment so no progress. I'm sick of working on everyone else's cars even if it's good money once this WRX is out of the shed I'm gonna turn down some work and get on with my own stuff for once.
