sick of it sitting in my driveway! barely got time for 1 car let alone 2 - all the hard works been done all it needs is some tlc on the bodywork and a small leak in the radiator fixed. i was just gonna put a gem radiator in anyway - oh and it needs a new rear main seal which i have it just needs to be fitted. just got some twin d/draft dellortos off an alfa to put on or i have a twin side draft manifold if you prefer sidies

I'm sure Tony's got about 3 or 4 engines lying around. Will be heading up there this weekend if you want me to ask?
Good work on the website ay. Mark (the guy who owns the 1200) has been doing some major upgrades to it over the last few weeks.
Tony runs a 4 Link set up in the rear and I think a Hilux LSD diff.
As far as I can remember he's got 3 chevettes rotting away behind his house (had seven about 6 months ago) and he may be getting 2 more shortly. If you need anything I can ask him for you but would be best if you give him a call and rock up to check his nuts out. He's a real GC and is happy to pass on his knowledge.

Haha that would be sweet. Actually won't be there on Sunday as he's doing a charity run at Hampton Downs if anyone wants to check it out.

rolled my rear guards a bit today, no more cuts in my nice rubber =D diff may be playing up aswell as the engine and Gbox now =S SOMETHING is rattling/knocking under acceleration around corners. i shooould do a conversion.. but i want to pour all my money into a hatch not the wag. pulled apart my gauge cluster aswell, without any diagrams this is just an educated guess but i need a new one of these- can someone confirm for me it should drop the reference voltage (to 7ish volts), not just stabilize it?. at the moment its putting out battery voltage which i suspect is why my readings are high.

most voltage regulators use a bi-metallic strip as a switch - sometimes they stick, you can try carefully opening up the outer case and checking it, giving the contacts a clean up with some W&D if needed. More modern ones use a Zener voltage regulating diode. Smiths use 10V, which I would assume to be an industry standard. home.mindspring.com/~purlawson/files/SmithsVoltageStabilizer.pdf

my engine popd the oil filler cap off at some stage this week and coated my engine bay all the way back to the drift shaft with oil (stabilized oil as well, sticky sh it a lot like honey) whats a rebuild kit for these anchors cost? im considering rebuilding it instead of putting in a 3rd new engine.
i also need a new diff.. mine has a nasty clunk around left hand turns
and need a new clutch cable, a new speedo cable, a new window winder (mine fell off and went through the hold in the floor)
really should get a new front window rubber but i might just silicone the nuts out of it.
needs a new passengers door.
and it needs rust repaired by someone who knows what theyre doing xD
oh and it dropped a cylinder on my way home today which was cool... stupid piece of crap chevette motors.
but it looks cool =D anyone want to buy it? haha

ha must have owned for a month or so if you thinking of selling. reckon you should just keep at it man, iron out them kinks ione by one and you'll have yourself a sweet little motor right there! Probably imporantest thing would be getting it running right.... someone must have a good engine lying around that will keep you going, diff at same time, I offloaded all my vette diffs before moving from Albany. Think I had 3...
