Man I'd save up that little bit more and go for the custom springs. That way you can have what ever gauge, coils, stiffness and height you want, fully mint etc. I don't know if you'll pass a VIN with cutties aye...

Thats going to look awesome man. Can't wait to see it with tyres etc etc. Custom coils are the way to go, don't go aftermarket and cut them. Will be illegal and you'll still need to get the ends tappered and retempered to cert it, which means you have wasted any advantages of going after market (except gauge). Getting coils made is deffinately the way. I just have no idea how they calculate the height it will sit at if you take them coils out of the car. I never have been able to understand that one.

Ahh.. I'll suss some pics abit later (maybe not for a little while) of where its at at the moment. Its pretty low, I'm happy with it and its all certifiable with heaps of travel and captive springs. It was abit of a fuk around to get it sweet tho and its still running cuts (I don't want to pay the money for customs because I don't trust the springmakers to get the height right basically).
Chevettes have much smaller diffs and also much smaller bumpstops, so they can go lower while retaining alot of travel. You will have to cut your bumps to go this low, but be very carefull. If you cut them too short your diff will hit the floor. I'm not sure of the best way to get around this sorry.

Well from what you said about the springs looking different and everything doesn't sound like sagging. I think the wrong spring must have been in there to begin with.
Wofs are easy enough to get. You can always find a place that will throw a sticker on your window. Its the cops that make things difficult. It sux driving a car that is able to be pink/green stickered.

We have got to have a chevette V gemini battle one day! Settle this once and for all! haha. Well the easyest way to sort it is to get some kings and cut them to the right hight(bout 400 bucks). But being the easyest way its not the best. Obviously customs are the way but as mikuni says getting it the right height might be an issue and this varies with different wheels also! The aussies go and get commo springs and cut them down, might be an idea if your really on the cheap. To be honest i dont think many ppl would know if there cut or not, just spray the end yellow again >; D

Andrew (Pushrod) from oldschool told me that when he got his springs made, they didn't do it right the first time and they made him a new set for free. So I think it's all good. I'm gonna have to go out and talk to them all about it some time. Gotta pay this Barry Whiteing speeding fine I got this morning too, who'd think a beetle could break a speed limit, haaha. How about I race mikuni
