Sweet thanks for the info man. So are all live axle dunydores the same or do i have to buy one for a certain model. Are they adjustable from the factory? (so that i can get one from pickapart ;D)

might not even get it done coz i done a measure and i'm only 8mm out thats plumbing from the guard then measuring back to the hub i'd say that would give you the correct answer but then again 8mm might be heaps in terms off diff being off center ? just gonna leave it for now and if me tyres rub on the guards at back when i get me mags, then i'll look into it!

Defcon, I saw that you were saying that putting in an adjustable panhard rod elliminates crab walking or axel tramp. I was wondering if you could explain this further.
My car handles well, but if you go into a real sharp corner, real fast (ie beyond a chevettes limits ;D) it starts to sledge the front a tiny bit then grips in and seems to lift the rear wheel. After this happens it starts struggling for grip and kinda skips the back around the corner. It all happens in about half a second so I'm just guessing thats whats actually happening. Obviously thats less than ideal, but after reading what you said about the panhard rod I'm wondering if my diff is moving and grabbing on the guard, causing this effect. I can hear it rubbing on the guard at the back as I'm cornering hard.
I still have the standard panhard in at the moment so I'm hoping that my new one will fix this problem. Which brings me to my next problem. One which sexychevette will probably want to hear also. I assumed that the panhard rod would be the same on the chevette to gemini, but sadly I was mistaken. Its about 150-200mm shorter (at a guess) and my commo one doesn't fit. I'm getting it shortened today.

Its about 150-200mm shorter (at a guess) and my commo one doesn't fit. I'm getting it shortened today. Its to do with the diff being out of alingment, If you imagin you drive shaft and diff not being directly under the car, but to one side slightly. So you have more weight on one side of the diff, you diff cind of gets a pivoting effect. Both zep and I have had this with our coupes, its pretty much what you expained above. The pan hard rod helps to reduce it. Also when you lower a gem it changes the angle the diff is on, ie it becomes more horrizontal as opposted to the torque trube facing up (where it mounts), This also can cause the diff to 'crab walk' when i chucked the zzr diff in i removed the spacers between the cross member and the chaissis and replaced them with washers that were far less thick, this helps to restor the diff angle (i think it was called the diff pinion angle). A guy at a suspension shop told me what caused the crab walking, its also on ozgem too i think. I read on the white-line site about the diff angle.

Check the mounts on the chassis and the diff aint rooted, chances are they might be if there was enought force to bend the trailing arm. You did recently cut the springs didnt you? haha you sure you Mrs Funt'maRunt them sweet? other wise, sagging springs are pretty common. probably just need a new sender for the temp guage, 17 bucks from repco i think.
