I take it you've been drinking haha. I know it needs to be bigger. I really want a MK1 Golf GTi one, but they are near impossible to find and I had this one just sitting on the vectra doing nothing. I'm stoked it went on so easy. Took about 5 mins but I won't tell you how I did it I'm just going to powder coat the whole wheel silver or maybe paint them in 2k cause I heard it won't chip as easy. Would look awesome with a machine lip but I'll just see what they look like all silver to begin with.

Hah, just a small(large) portion of rum...
The vectra lip would be a good base to build from if you want to make one, seeing as you have already mounted it and done the hard part. How are your fibreglassing skills?

Haha well its not really 'mounted' But yeah, I can glass. Live with boatbuilders for a couple of years so learned a little bit along the way. I can't be bothered mucking round with it though. Takes too long and the end product is always a little bit poos IMO. I've got some carbon fibre that I want to have a play round with though. I'm going to try making a couple of little bits for the engine/car. Trumpets and covers for my lights. Should be pretty cool.

FUK! The ecotec doesn't fit! The sump is a forward unit, that I was hoping to modify with a rear bowl sump from the single cam engine, but once I ripped the ecotecs sump off I found the oil pump sitting right in the way. So that kind of wrecks my plans for now. I'm probably going to try and sell my motor and buy a single cam engine and just get a twincam head. Should make things easier I would think. Will see what happens anyway. Just makes things abit more of a fuk round

What do you mean by headlight covers? Yeah I'm 100% keen to keep the gold/copper/bronze (whatever it is) look going. I'm having issues deciding but I think I'll just do them silver top start with. I think it will look good as. Going to flag the flares at this stage. They are slightly the wrong shape and I can't bring myself to hack the guards to fit them. Maybe down the track abit more once I start ruining the car abit more And headlight covers.. its just an idea. I might do some template things soon. But don't worry, its not anything gay like pop up light covers and all that sh*t. Tom, deffinately go to 8's. They will look so badass with those mean little vaux centre caps sitting waaaaay back inside there! If I were you I would have a look at the thread on oldschool about buying blank rims. I looked into that but couldn't find any, but it seems it might be the better option. Means you can go to 8 inch 'legally'

Latest RetroCars turned up today. Not only does it have a modifying XE engines guide in it, but it also has a Manta A with an Ecotec engine too - so I'll try scan both them in for ya.

^ Yeap I had come across that, cheers anyway. It caters more to the GM ecotec, which differs from the vauxhall/opel one.
I'm hanging out for that article if you can be arsed scanning it. I'm loosing motorvation on the conversion since I started running into a few brick walls. I know a better idea is saving money and selling my car to travel. haha
