Awesome I'm more stoked then in that case. Got it for less than half price as thats in aussie dollars right?
I've gotta go into my suspension place this week sometime to arrange some shorter shocks for the rear so I'll ask them how much they can get another one in for me/you.

Update. Nothing too exciting.. I'm still getting my new wheels sorted. That fulla off trademe seems ok and hes in the waikato so I'm sussing that out at the moment. $50 a wheel. I'm getting them sand blasted, $15 a wheel! And then, after they are widened they will probably be powder coated silver after this was sugested by the sandblaster, but I haven't looked into this yet. VERY stoked with the wheels. They are obviously made for a chevette as they sit perfectly around the hub and the notch that centres them. Don't even need nuts to hold them there. They look the bus to me aswell. Gunna be exactly the look I'm after I reckon once they are widened. Awesome! Thanks again Tom for sussing them out. Heres a couple of pics I grabbed tonight after fixing the sway bar and bleeding the brakes (by myself lol). (the dates are all wrong obviously) I can't see which are which so I'll just stick them all on there. Anyway, you can see what its gunna look like. Can't wait till they are 7's!

If you mean the chrome on this car nah, I don't like the look of it. Plus, I think the pillars have just been painted white, as you can't see any green coming thru.

Heres some pictures I dredged up for the Chevette Gallery that I just joined. Thought some fo you might like to see them also. Well. I have known about this site since before I ever bought a chevette by stumbling upon the photo gallery, as I'm sure many of you have also. I've had various chevettes for around 4 years now, aswell as two twincam Isuzu Piazzas as doner cars and an Isuzu Gemini. I had the twincam engine in my old chevette, but unfortuantely never had it going I am currently looking in to the pros and cons of an Opel XE conversion out of either a pre 92 vectra or calibra. I would very much welcome any infomation or help you can give me on the subject, and I have already sent an email to andy, as everyone seems to be advising. So, after nice welcome from neil he advised me to put pictures of my cars up. Hope you guys enjoy. 1979 Vauxhall Chevanne, that I gave away recently (had G200W Piazza Twincam in it) One of the infortunate Piazza doner cars The other, considerably more unfortunate doner car I love this picture. For those unfamilier, this is the mighty vauxhall power unit at its best.

Yeah thats the fella that I'm talking to at the moment. Real good guy, he bought that car but the previous owner kept the engine. He says it was put in there so ruggedly! Cut hole in bonnet and all. Little update on my car anyway: Have got my vectra with the engine in it and its now running. Will be getting the motor cleaned up slightly. Just cam belt, tensioners, a few seals, water pump, plugs, ht leads and new oil. Maybe a couple of other things that I find along the way. I'm getting 4 x Yamaha 41mm bike carbs sent over from australia to run the thing. They are getting cleaned up and re-jetted as soon as they get here. Engine management is probably going to be link g3 at this stage, even though I don't really like link. I'll pay the extra and get a computer that can run fuel and ignition, although I only require ignition control at the moment, it will allow me to run quad throttle injection or a turbo/supercharger if I ever want to go down that road. The g3 is also more tunable, as I need it to recieve the signal from a cam sensor and a crank angle sensor so this will make things alot easier in the long run. At $1300 its alot more than I wanted to spend just to get spark at this stage, so I'm still looking into other options. Gearbox and any other engine parts I require to get it sitting in there are all sitting at Holden parts haven ready for when ever I need them. My wheels are STILL getting widened. Taking much longer than I hoped and I think its also going to cost alot more than I hoped! So thats putting a slight hold on everything at the moment. The tyres I want are around $150 x4 = $600 I have my vectra on trademe for parts and a guy rang up and told me prices I should charge for things... crazy alright. He says you can't buy a radiator for less than $600.. I will charge a lot less than that so hopefully that should help me pay for a little bit of the conversion. It seems not too many people need parts though. I'm looking at getting the front panels of my car removed and modified so I can pull the front part off completely. It won't be race style or anything like that, just unbolt everything so that its easier to move a big motor in and out of a tiny engine bay. I'm also remounting a big recored radiator in there under the front panel at the same time, aswell as getting a few other things rebuilt and changed in prep for the conversion. So yeah, over all its still looking on target for a transplant early next year, funds permitting. ;D Can't wait. Except the diff will pop straight away but I will worry about that when it does. And I have a spare I can get welded in the mean time

Awesome man, that'd be great. Hopefully it applies to the ecotecs aswell, not just the XE's.

Kind of keen to get some wheels widened up pretty soon for my chevette 13x8 with some 195x45x13's. Hope I can find someone in Hams that will stretch them on there for me. I deffinately reckon you should have a go at widening those standard wheels that have the vauxhall centre cap. I'd be keen to swap for a few weeks so I can see my car on them! haha love that semi-original look.
