zane with my old sedan has my spare rebuilt head if thats what is wrong with yours ollie? It was redone early this year and is in good condition. He lives in manukau.
If you're in no hurry I think he and jaygti are both looking at transplants aswell and so they may have spare 1256's nearing the end of the year, otherwise dump a gemi motor in. Theres afew of those around and its not too difficult.

I haven't had a chance to have a look at it yet cos I only got the car the other day but apparently it has run a big end bearing. I would guess it has other associated problems too.
Yeah, I'm not in too much of a hurry to sort it out, will probably start working on it over summer.

Been siting in my driveway for a couple of months but it was sweet when it was in my car and you should be able to get in going again. Box is still attached and i dont think i drained the oil...or maybe i did. Yeh..anyway the exhaust and inlet are still on it so prob no water is inside the engine. fingerscrossed etc

Ollie, since the thread's already been hijacked ... has your friend with the V8 tried the springs yet? I've also a couple of old engines around the place - not at all sure of condition, though. If you don't get one of the others on offer, perhaps a bitza can be built up - they're pretty tough engines.

Already done this but... I'm Nige / Nizzo/ Niggy / Niggle / Peanuttz / Chugga to most people. I hail from dirty old Hamilton and I'm currently (slowly but surely) working on my '83 TG Gem project. At the moment theres a rebuilt G161 sitting in the front, looking at powering it up, but the main attraction is a worked (half way there anyway) 2.6L 4ZE1 conversion. She'll be a goer!! I found a booger too, I flicked it.
