I believe the name explains it all. I officially own the beast thanks to Craig, as of this afternoon. Finally I am a proud owner of a mighty 1256cc '78 Chevette, 4 door sedan. will post some new pics tomorrow if i get a chance to before it goes off to the panelbeater to get the rust patch in the firewall, just above the pedals exterminated and have a fresh plate welded in. Then hopefully off to get some warrentable wheels this Saturday (after i get a hold of Tony), and then have it all legal smegal.
Current mods:
-Heavy Duty super cheap auto 430cca Battery ;D
Oh and once again, cheers Craig!

haha shot ;D lol Barry White going out to manukau for a battery lol. im all the way on the shore mate. anyways took some pictures with my phone before i took it to my dads, panelbeater mate in Pare. pretty much exactly how Craig left it but will be getting stock wheels this weekend hopefully. oh also noticed that the chevette leaks like a sieve. leaking at exactly the same spot on each side of the front windscreen rubbers and i think theres a slight leak in the boot, will be dealing with these when i get the car back. just gonna hit it up with silicone for the mean time. thats it for now

Got the Chevette back from my dads mate 2day, he said that due to the spot where rust/hole is, he would charge me a fair amount as he would have to remove the pedals, carpet and some other nuts but told me that because of the welding behind the battery (which was sorted previously) was choice as and its not like anythings going to be leaking through the hole on the inside, also that it should be sweet for a wof unless i take it to somewhere like vtnz . kind of guttered as i was looking forward to seeing that hole patched up but i guess ill get it done sometime later. Whilst driving back i noticed that the car was excessively revving high, pulled over and checked to see that the outside layer of the throttle cable was worn and didnt quite wana fit into the metal tubing so i managed to squeeze it in, pull a hory and ductape it on. went back to normal so its sweet for now. Picked up some goods 2day aswell... Was going to fix up some of the leaks, change oil and flush radiator but gave up after i realised i didnt have a socket/spanner to undo the sump plug can anyone tell me what size i need as i will go and buy the correct size 2mro. Also might get some spark plugs and leads and hava look at the dizzy to make sure its up to scratch.

imo- get a half decent set of imperial spanners and ultimatly a socket set. bigger its allgood to use metric but i find that for a lot of the smaller nuts and bolts, 3/8 especially, metric wont work. not for anything tight, like most the 30 year old bolts are likley to be. and welcome to the wonderful (and addictive) world of T-Cars.
