Most probably myself unless I can get a hold of an old mate who currently works at auto matrix, otherwise I'm going to ask Tony if I can do it at his next week because the compressor I have is a nutsty supercheapauto one. Gonna have heaps of mates round this weekend to Help sand it. Just doing a Respray on the exterior.
Currently the bonnet is sanded back.
To do list in the next 2 weeks (as kind of stated on previous post):
-Prep & Paint -Throttle Cable -Choke Cable -Fix Indicators -Replace Reverse Bulb -Prep, Paint and throw some tyres on some rims (cheers Brad) -Headdeck & Speakers - New Oil, Filter and Airfilter -Wof & Rego
It's going to be a crazy two weeks as I still need to get my Xmas shopping done but I reckon I can do it haha.

You're just going to have to make some sacrifices, like no christmas presents to anyone this year ;D

You're just going to have to make some sacrifices, like no christmas presents to anyone this year ;D Haha i wish mate, would have a choice a amount of funds to spend on the beast. unfortunately due to me spending all my left over coin on the chevette, im sacrificing valuable dollars that would be going towards the mirage . was planning on getting the ecu and possibly fuel pump sorted with it. Haha all good tho

Ok so like none of my mates helped me sand on the weekend haha so got next to no sanding done :S
Bonnet, vents panel, front panels and boot have been prepped and primed. I have removed the front guards and im hoping to wire brush the surface rust + underseal the wheel wells, get the guards on then prep n prime tomorrow.
With the help of some mates ive now sussed out the accelerator + return spring and gonna throw a air filter on it soon.
My vitamin water radiator overflow bottle has now been remounted aswell (no more hory tape stz).
In attempt to do the central locking myself I Barry Whiteed the drivers lock barrel, but ive got someone coming round tomorrow to install central locking and an alarm so i wont even need to manually unlock the car anymore.
Also tried to sort the indicators today. The hazard light switch was faulty and was causing the indicators and hazards not to work but ive now swapped the switch over and they kind of work... Right blinker indicates rather slowly while the left indicator doesnt flash at all and the hazard lights work, blinking excessively whilst the light isnt appearing on the warning light.
Also got some tyres lined up for my wheels later this week so nutss starting to come together. iM hoping to get a wof on it later this week then suss out the sounds. That is all for now..

The alarm & central locking is now installed! haha first car ive owned with central locking & alarm and its a bloody chevette lol.
Didnt get too much done today, just wire brushed under the guards, rust converted & painted then slapped the new guards on. Need to line the F/L guard a bit better though because there is a huge gap in between the bonnet.
I might take some pics tomorrow. keep on forgetting to whip the camera out :/

Yeah boy,
central locking is awesome aye... I made sure the Gem had it when I got an alarm too. Mine didn't work for ages because when the doors were off for rust repairs, the asses cut the wires and didn't fix them - pretty useless. I fixed it all up the other day though and it's mint. You'll be loving it!

Both front guards have been sanded back. primed and guide coated. Due to the loss of work for a week I cant afford paint anymore so will be driving down to gizzy guide coated up and will be painting after new years. I was thinking perhaps sanding the guide coat back then flicking some darker grey on and stenciling some nuts on it to make it look a bit BOSS ;D. Heres some pics Peace

Choice got a wof yesterday! also the whole right side is painted. Now ive only got the left side and roof but ive sanded pretty much all of it so its now waiting for paint.
Seeing as i cant afford the proper paint stz yet I was planning on chucking a coat on of perhaps a dark grey just to seal it up for the trip (also so it looks half decent aswell). Also perhaps throw a stencil of somekind of oldschool logo on the side. You guys got any ideas? + painting the rims either gunmetal or a bronzey kind of colour.
Car also needs a good tune. when i took it in for a wof the car was idling realllly low and it was missfiring a little. Timings perfect but i guess i just need to get the airfuel mixture spot on.
Also received a more accurate water temp gauge and tacho in the mail today. Going to hook them up in the next few days.
