No use to me, but thanks for posting it up. Definitely a nice, tidy car and you're right. That's a good price for one too. I'd actually recommend one to anyone who wants a fun yet cheap to run daily driver while the project is off the road. I have a work car at the moment, otherwise I'd seriously consider it. They don't come up very often.
Would be a shame to turn it into a track hack, but would also be cool! haha. I already bought a de-reg one of them for parts for my Vectra and then another c20xe came up, so I now have 2 and 3 or 4 gearboxes that I probably won't even use. I have a problem. haha

there is also a Calibra listed at the PickaPart in South Auckland. nothing much left of it, engine and gear box gone (8V) dash and switches were intact last week, front struts and rear sub frame still there, some glass and trim. I grabbed the front calipers for spares other than that its just about right for shedding

Pity you didn't post last night, would have saved me a drive down. Still some good stuff on it, but no money or place to store it.

bit of an update on where things are at, rust cut out of boot and battery box mounted on a bracket to bring it upto boot floor height, pedal box just sitting there with wire to get the right positioning, just waiting on seats before its mounted, gear stick shortened up and strengthened hydraulic release bearing, its all installed now, no pic of it in yet exhaust flange water jetted out progress on inlet manifold

What brand is the hydralic throwout- what sorta cost if you dont mind me asking? A good tip for the bleed nipple. Get another braided hose and have it coming back out the gearbox, so it can be bled easily, also less weepage around the throwout bearing - keeps gearbox cleaner..

I got a different design centre mount hydraulic release for the T9 (Sierra) gearbox through SBD, can't recall what it all cost, sorry. Demon Tweeks, and others, also sell them.

got it from NZAD, cost $336 www.nzad.co.nz/yup have done that cul8r, the kit even came with the short hose to do it haha, inside diameter was perfect fit, my mate has machined up a spacer instead of using the rings they supply, just cause i didnt want to risk hearing those rings chattering together when there is no pressure on it

Make sure you allow sufficient additional clearance for the diaphram segments/fingers coming up as the clutch plate wears - caught a lot of people out! When I can get back into mine, I'm planning on getting the large opening for the clutch fork welded for stiffness, and after having it refaced (if required), having a slot machined in the facing where the gearbox bolts up. I'll feed both hoses from the slave through it to a plate bolted to the gearbox with bulkhead fittings - one will be fitted with a bleed and the other will be joined to another length of hose that will be fixed to the transmission tunnel. That way the bleed is easy to access, the hose can easily be split for gearbox removal, and there'll be no hassles trying to reach anything within the bellhousing as everything will come off with the gearbox!

progress update, have used up my bulk pack of dynamat, done both doors on outside skin, whole roof, both rear quater panals, has made a huge difference, will be getting some more to do inside firewall and floor installed my central locking actuators does anyone know if any model of chevettes came out with central locking? because on the door lock there is this hole unused, which was perfect to run the actuator off, where my finger is this is what my gearbox looks like with the concentric bearing installed passenger firewall with ecu board mounted and car wiring board next to it with fuse box, have completed making the new rear car loom.

Don't know about central locking, but headlight wash/wipe was an option - be interesting to see how many actually took it up.

Thermakraft window flashing tape is the same material as the dynamat, a fraction thinner, a bit easier to work with and a fraction of the cost. if your looking to save some money and not worried about the "chip foose" factor. use seam sealer or windscreen bonding (in a tube) to get a good bond to the panel, I have seen dynamat come away from the inner roof skin & side panels when the car is out in the sun...
