Looking very retro BTW, noticed an HS(?) panel last night on Ebay - had the tacho' in the dash - might be of interest to you.

Nah he doesn't, he sold it on shaft-me, wasen't a fan of it, he likes the standard front, with maybe a bib spoiler. Also, he likes romantic movies and moonlit walks on the beach....

I like it I think it's always quite hard on a Chevette to pull off the HS bodykit look because I always feel that the rear chrome bumper tends to look a little bit out of place once the fibreglass panles are fitted , but the wheels, mirrors and other little bits of chrome on yours pull it all together The colour is great , I fancy something similar for mine and it's interesting to see how the blacked out side window surrounds look , I wanted to photoshop mine to see what it would look like but there's no need now ! And if it were mine I'd remove the rear bumper overriders and some of the lettering just to give it a slightly cleaner look but hey that's just my own personal choice , it's still a great car

alright, heres a little thing i done over 5days when i had time off work, i decided to do this to freshen up my run around chevette so it dosnt look as bad when i drive to work each day, i forgot to take pictures before but u can see it in the background in the pictures of my white hs there me sanding back the old paint and that blody sticker along the side of the car one side of the car was real easy to sand because it had been repainted before i brought it because it had been in a crash heres a pic of my rangi spray booth lol and the car all cleaned down for primer heres the car all primed and ready for a quick sand then paint and finally the finished product(i didnt bother covering up the wheels because iv got new ones going on) i will get a pic up of the car with everything put back on it in the next couple of days

Your dad is crazy - in a good way!
Might be worth his while looking for alloy heads (if not already in place) and an alloy block - if not too dear - as the weight will be the hard thing to deal with. PS, got an old issue of Hot Rod with them sticking a 500CI Caddy motor in a Chev' Chevette! Drag only play car - biggest engine in the smallest car!

okay, so my new plan is building a new high performance slant 2.3 heres the parts i got from murray fullerton (think these are the parts you usto own bulldog?) theres a inlet manifold for twin 45 dellortos, big cam with cam box and adjustible cam gear, high compression head with bigger valves and ports, tappet cover with splash plates, and a standard shortblock, also to come is a baffled sump, 45 dellortos. ill post pics and a description at each milestone i get to.

If you've any queries, give me a buzz. Rebuilt 2 or 3 dozen standard engines plus about the same top ends when I was with the old PO and Telecom. Also had a bit to do with a mate's rally car running a similar setup to you. Be interesting to see how yours and Bulldogs compare - going to have to see if both can get to Taupo at the same time. Who knows, may even have mine there as well ... be disappointed if I'm not faster ;D ;D ;D
I may have posted some of the 2.3 comments in an earlier post, if you want to have a quick look.
