rubbed her down wioth 240g followed by 600g last night, scrubbed her down and sprayed 5 cans of satin black over it today... still need to take drivers guard off and grind the big weld down, bog up etc. All the dents showed up nicely but glad the thing is nearly all one colour. Should have taken pic of new zorst, meh! Anyhow she aint too far off now, hope I'm happy with the spray bombed finsih, think I am regretting not splurging on a proper paint job now but just cant spread funds that far @ the mo and I am one impatient mofo!

shoe polish method didnt work how I thought it would... ended up buying a can of cut n shine and am s-l-o-w-l-y buffing my way to a half decent finish. Finishing it off with a coat or two of turtle wax in lieu of clearcoat. Looking not too shabby (the bits that are done) for a spraybomb job...

the bonnet is one of the 'done' bits. Roof was worst and has been cut n polished twice... will need at least 1-2 more goes before Turtle waxing me thinks. Getting there though, just need to pull finger and spend more time in shed.

nuts I'm slack... since last post have only had a few sessions trying to buff up the nutsty spray bomb paintjob (looks half decent though) reckon one more buff over the drivers side and it will look as good as it will ever look without repainting properly. Located heater hoses that fit so water is all plumbed up now. Painted stock steels orange. Look OK with the chrome beauty rings and pie dish caps. Finally managed to remove bonnet badge from rusty old bonnet today. Cleaned it up today, apart from where someone hit it with a sander looks nice. Hard to find item... Still need to do: (list is boring and more for me than any of you) Mod front bumper brackets, put bumpers on (Chevette items front and rear) Accelerator cable and bracket fabricated. Bit of engine wiring, hopefully have someone lined up for this when he has spare time. Add clamps to fuel hose on underbody... anyone know how far apart these need to be? Remove fuel tank so external seal can be fitted... doh Put carpet back in, refix door cards properly, sill guards, trims etc etc blah Clean up seats and re install. Hopefully getting a Manta steering wheel for Brads car, bosskit and wheel from that will go here.. (cheers in advance Derek... will try and do a South Cruise soon!) Need to chop rear springs, obtain shocks to suit. Ideally would buy springs... money is too dam toight! Clean paint overspray and 30yrs of yuck from glass. Fit CD head deck... cassette deck face plate is AWOL. Purchase/find/steal a new battery. Tune the Webers. WoF - Reg - Skids on!

Pretty sure the fuel line clamps need to be every 300mm for a cert.
