Hello all Found your site through Mikuni , there were a couple of threads about his blue estate on a UK forum so thought i'd join up and stick some pics up of the Kadett i'm trying to get back on the road.. It currently looks like this.. i bought it back in '98 as a spares or repair car for £20 ( 54NZD ? ) and it's been off the road for a few years now but hopefully will be painted and built back up by the end of the year I'll stick a few more pics of the build up and some of the specs of the car over the next couple of days or so . Here's what i drive on weekends , a '73 Vauxhall Firenza . Not sure whether you guys had these over there ? Or a variant of it ? Great site you have , it's been interesting learning a bit more about the different variants of the T-car - seems you guys had the better engine options though.... Cheers all

Yay, we now have a kadett ;D haha
Nice job of the firenza there, it looks awesome. What engine does that have in it? I only just noticed the cage in it.
Hope the kadett comes out as nice a job as the firenza! It will look supurb.
Where did you get the lip from for the firenza? Is it a fibre glass one? I can imagine on of those looking pretty cool on a t-car. Perhaps just a little bit more forward angle.

Nice cars, especially the Firenza!
Our engine options were pretty marginal. The only Twin-cam engines are the imports and no T-Car actaully came out with a turbo engine (just the piazza). You guys got the GT/E engines which are far better than anything we got domestically.

The lip was already on it when i bought the car and yeah it's fibreglass. A friend of mine has borrowed it to make a mould so he can start selling them

Love Firenza's & Viva's & Magnums (we got everything you got in the terms of Vauxhall's I think) So much so I've been trying to locate a nice one locally, but to no luck as of yet - found one but owner o/seas and doesnt want to sell .
Is that actually a Kadett or a Chevette with a Kadett front ? As I've never seen a "kadett" that shape before, only the sedans, wagons & coupes...
Cheers,Chris

Yeah, I think the hatches were called "city's" and then theres the "aero" aswell, which is the targa top one.

cul8r - yeah it's a Kadett city - basically the same as a Chevette hatch apart from the front wings/panel/lights.. Here's some German ones but you get the idea City Hatchback Aero (2door targa top ) Estate 2 door saloon Coupe Apart from the obvious body syle differences , the front ends on all the Kadett c models changed about 1977 . the earlier ones had indicators down below in the front panel and the Opel badge on the leading edge of the bonnet... whilst the facelifted models had the indicators shoved up beside the headlights and the badge on the front grille... Few more piccies here if you're interested.. s143.photobucket.com/albums/r132/coggers01/kadett/?start=allRight . I'll take me anorak off now cheers all...

Earlier ones look the best, that blue one 2nd from the bottom is sex!
I spied with my little eyes, you've got a mark drawn on the front guards to the wheel arch, at the same height as a HSR front air dam, putting the 2+2 together here, you making a Kadett with a HSR kit (flares , spoilers etc) ??
What motor are you going to put in it?
Cheers,Chris

We almost have all the t-car types here now! just missing and aero and 2 door sedan.
Heaps of good pics on that site too. I quite like the later model kadett front, looks staunch

I would have had to chop it up a bit to make it fit and didn't really fancy it in the end.. That's when i ended up sorting out the back arches and rear quarters properly and i decided on chrome bumpers in the end which i'm glad i did ,with hindsight.. Far as the motor goes i just want to get the thing on the road running and using it again so i havn't given any thought to changing the motor yet. It's so close to being back on the road that i want to get some enjoyment and use out of it before the winter..

Barry White is a hero down these parts. We tend to refer to him alot, especially when describing awesome things such as T-cars.
Nah, this forum actually changes swear words to other words. Try it, its great fun. F*ck = Barry White
