You can race me when mines turbo'd, Ive got a g200 going the same route as your 1600 has, Turbo +a 32/36 .Lets see how much the extra displacement effects it

Hmm at low speeds I don't think there will be much between them top end 2L will take it for sure. Wound the work hack up to 185kph the other day was quite funny realy

So its auto, damb that must be taking heapsa power out of it ay, I had a minta auto and it was soooo slow compared to my minta manual. Can you give me some details of how you did the setup and around how much it cost you to do it etc?? youve got me wondering!!!!

Ok the TE actually goes quite hard without the turbo suprisingly ;D Its real nuts to drive as the auto is'nt surposed to feel boost so it gets a bit confused and wont shift or shifts when you dont want it to but yeah would go a crap load harder if it were manual I am looking to do a conversion soon. My turbo I did everything myself and got the turbo for free I think it cost about $280 to have it running which is cheap as hell considering the power increase. Theres heaps of little things I did if you want I could get a bit more detailed.

13b Turbo fuel pump out of a mazda luce. I have scored a VL external EFI pump for free thats what I will be using on my EFI setup because the are rated high.
I have a holley fuel presure regulator that I bought for $70 good old trademe. Its been modifyed to work under boost but that was allready like that so I don't know how it was done. I drilled and tapped threads into the throttle shafts and put bungs in there for dry air seals and drilled the power valve out which I don't think was a good idea. Also I locked the dizzy and run 22 degrees at idle with no VAC at all. It ran like crap before I did that.
I have tuned it a few times and Im fairly happy with it now it runs far to rich if I floor it thats because I drilled the power valve out I think because I have 1.3mm jets out of a 1300 escort carb and its still rich. Anyway after all I was told about how unreliable carbi turbo's are I'm happy except the economy.

I removed the turbo today It's time for a warrent and its got a mean leak on the turbo to manifold flange which I can't get at on the car. I don't think the TE will see the turbo again not straight away anyway. I took it for a drive to make sure all was well and I noticed all the little flat spots it had are still there so the carb must be a lttle dirty or sumfin. I'm quite sad was a beast ;D

I put a different webber on yesterday because I was not happy with the one I had on there. In the two week's since I took the turbo off the fuel consumption has'nt changed still useing heaps and had a few flat spots which I thought the turbo was causeing.
Today had to reset the float level because it was idling a bit rough and I changed the air corrector on the primary to a larger size because it seemed to stutter a little coming off idle and its smooth now. cant wait till I put the turbo back on should go a lot better I think. I also made a bleed valve so I'm gunna try 10PSI hope it takes it

I can get you a decompresion plate from my work for pretty cheap if your interested? Might aid in running a few psi more safely. Altho I am pretty intersted to see how it takes 10psi standard
