Hey mate awesome car, my first Gemini was a sedan the same colour as this. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the paint code is for it? I have just bought another 78 sedan and I would like to paint it that colour. Regarding the two sections that pop out of the grille I believe they were for the American Gemini's that had their indicators there.

yeap gaps were for indicators, have found floodlights with right dimensions to fit. according to virm (wof book) vehicles this year can have 2 headlights so i just call 'em highbeams and can have floody's. as far as paint code goes im not sure sorry. eventualy want to get it painted same colour but until then i've not a clue. in other news. the g200w is coming along well, head is in at the engine shop being acid dipped, hardness tested and planed. then it will be bottom end balancing and hopefully forged pistons (anyone have any info on these/part numbers?) then probably twin 45 dcoe webers and lumpy cams. yeehaw!

When you say floodlights do you mean pencil beam ones? you might struggle to get flood lights to show a good pattern on the beam setter, unless you called them foglights and set them low

You should be ok if you use a pencil beam type - they can be used as 'driving lights' then on high beam. fog lights can only be used on low beam and must be dipped. You are right though in that you can have up to four lamps now though.

Had the head for the g200 off at the engine shop last week, came back all good with a head plane. managed to loose one of the valve spacer plates, so will need to machine one of those up somehow. everything's cleaned up, valves look huge. makes me think someones been into the head before. anyone know if double springs are standard on the twin cams? engine work on hold at the mo pending tech fees paid. in other news did a head gasket on the g161, having problems with flow through the engine. new waterpump, thermostat, radiator and both hoses. anyone encountered this before? bottom hose only warm after good long run. (80 k's) might try evil caustic radiator flush product. found some prelude seats at pickapart for 45 bucks, rb distributor for the same. all i need now is time...

New to the car or new radiator ?
I used to use Soda washing crystals, leave them in for a week, flush, repeat process 2-3 times. And use the heater to get it flowing through there.
Would have to check my g180w to see if the valve springs are double row or not. Its the shim you've lost by the sounds of it, I've heard of people using a yamaha motorbike one I think it is, but I cant recall which. Its posted over on the twincam forum somewhere.
The valves are huge - as are the inlet ports 48mm from memory?

Have you thought that the cool lower hose could be due to the radiator working properly and cooling the coolant? Unless the engine seems to be getting hot, I don't think I would worry about it.

i did wonder that gordo, its one of those new radiators off trademe, surely the flow would equalize the temperature throughout the engine? also found i have no chassis earth. which is causing the temp guage to race up depending on electrical load XD. so have put earth in and now just have to wait for payday for fuel

Man, over 3 years since a post! Crazy. The 'ol piece of crap has a new engine. Rebuilt G200W all standard as some of you probably know.... Just rejected my 40m sidedrafts. bolt 'em up on monday then she'll be running. Been looking into a rear swayer as i have none at all and no mounts allowed for. Mac reckons they'll sell me one so that'll be up next on the list. Got her on low springs and have to swap out rear struts for camira ones which apparently will keep the bastards captive. Doing fronts aswell as the whole things bit bouncy. Need to get some photos up. Sitting on hot-wires now. had to use spacer/adapters so they sit out bit which looks wicked. Another thing for cert. Off to melbourne in july so moneys gonna be filtering into that for now. Will try and be bit more religious with my posts. also need photos. will do that.

More pics, I cant remember, but did you ever buy the Sway bar off me when I was wrecking the Piazza?
I have a spare Sedan twincam rear sway bar and links, but no body mounts, and you'd need the mounts on the diff.
