Yeah yeah, dont bother about other engines then. Just get it running as a standard car, much easier to get through the VIN that way.

And what do you mean by "how does a free flow work?"
Essentially a free flow exhaust is one with better flow. It helps the engine breath better, rev higher and quicker, but don't really expect to see massive gains. It's about getting the exhaust which is suited to your engine. For a standard G161z with a 32/36 carb, and some extractors, maybe a rebore to 84mm a 2" will suffice. With a bit more work I wouldn't be going over 2.5".

^ Yes, If you wanted Im sure you could pick up a pair of extractors cheaply from australia 2nd hand in good condition including shipping for less than $100 - I can sort this if you want to go this route as I've bought a few parts from aus already..
With a decent exhaust, with the motor in the wagon Im getting the same fuel economy I did with the stock g161z as I do with twin 36 dellortos etc etc.. (Much much less restrictive)

yeh i if you fail wof/vin on rust it needs to be reapaired/signed off by a certified guy/panel beater i have been told. But if you fix it yourself before the inspection it should be ok. I think - dont quote me on that. But yeh my friends van failed wof on rust around the windscreen at vtnz last year and they said he had to get a panel beater to fix it or something. In saying that in the past(couple years back) some nutsters i've owned have failed wofs on rust(minor as nuts) and i bogged it up then passed recheck so iduno the law may of changed or something. Best if you check up on that why you roll your eyes for? nothing wrong with asking questions shesh edit-the numbers on the carb refer to the internal diameter of the carb throat/throats. A 32/36 has a primary barrel of 32mm and a secodary of 36mm basically the bigger the number the bigger the carb read this to learn basics of carbs etc: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carburetor
