^ At this stage Im just after the bonnet for the sedan (big bulge) , but in saying that I've seen photos of a sedan with the rounder flares on and its super tough! Hadn't thought of HS guards on a sedan, that would look awesome!

Our first race meeting this year is September 19th the big 'Icebreaker' event so I'm working my butt off to try and finish the chevette to a semi presentable but sorted mechanically race car by then. Managed to remove the rally front assembly and replace it with my freshly painted coupe front end, yes they are exactly the same bolt holes etc. Tony has performed his magic again by modifying the ford bell housing and fabricating a matching plate to match up the Toyota celica 5 speed to the c20xe clutch etc. He's a legend! We were very pleased to find that the gemini rack and steering column fit in the chevette shell also and we'll be running the gemini column switch gear in there also as the chevette stuff is terrible. Next will be to place the redtop and gearbox in the hole complete with headers to see what doesn't fit if anything. Then we'll strip it all again for the big body overhaul, matte black engine bay and interior, we'll freshen the white and red paint and keep it in HS trim for the first event and hopefully the HSR moulds will be ready sometime soon after that.

Far out, hard work, Amazing just how much room there is in the guards (in particular that shot where you can see the stock rear wheel..)

We'll get there mate...it might just cost more money to pay Tony to do it You're right cul8r...they're huge. You can only really fill the rears out with the bigger hilux diff or manta or spacers.

Had a great session at Tony's today where everything fell into place. Made the new thrust bearing sleeve and fitted with new bearing, bolted up the gearbox complete with Toyota MR2 turbo clutch (fit's straight in!). Slung the motor and gearbox in the hole only to find everything fits! We were amazed as we were comtemplating having to modify the firewall somehow. Fabricated a new cross member which just needs finishing. We'll fit the exhaust for a complete dummy run then it can all come out again ready for the massive tidy up. Engine bay and turrets need rewelding as some blind person welded in the last bits Cut back and paint. I bought rear calipers and handbrake cable off a 95 levin which Tony has plates for that are like Dan's. Watch this space.
