nuts, lucky one there dude!
Had a car fall of a jack onto me too, was scary as hell. I was using a mate's driveway, up around the back of his house, while he was away on holiday and the jack basically broke and collapsed in on itself. Car dropped far enough to pin me to the ground, was sitting on my chest, but what was left of the jack was stopping it from crushing me.
Took me about an hour of screaming out to get someone to come round the back of the house to find out what the noise was all about and pull the bloddy thing off me. Will not get under a car without fully secured axle stands holding nuts up now...

so whatd u gals think about tha tf front on the chevini? until i 1st saw tha kadet c city i was fully keen on goin with a td gem front but not anymore... Chevini in barn now gana start doin rust repair on passenger floor already have patch cut from wreckd vette i had, just gots 2 weld the sucker in then all welding on chevini done (except 4 mods 2 take gem front of coarse!!) The next thing is prepping/painting engine bay, also hav 2 strip apart front end, replace bushes/engine mounts, strip/paint components and reassemble .then gana clean up/paint seat rails and mount recaros on them as my rails i had already lovingly restored (along with a small pile of other stuff!!) went in boganvette. hahaha point#1... black chevini...the parts car that got built before both projects!! point#2... still havnt welded that floor up!! patch is cut and ready just been mega busy/lazy point#3... prepped and painted more seat rails (finaly!!) just recently. Just cracks me up reading all my "im ganas" off old threads!! lovin it!!

rite e ho... according to guy i bought this beast off originally this has an lsd...probly piazza. The G180 out of new wagon and 5 speed will be goin in too, then the twin webers. Does anyone know if piazzas have uprite shox? the diff seems to have different mountings so may uprite shox also. Also the paneled guards and bonnet off new wagon will go on this car too as the ones i had for it are pretty rough. Finally a plan!! I have all the bits just need the time and some painting and she will be rocking and rolling!!

The piazza shocks aren't upright but are on less of an angle than chevette hatch/wagon ones so I guess you could just about do either?

Had a bit of a play with the ol' chevini today... dug out the discs and calipers that I got with her. They from a S6 RX7 aparently, 4 pot fronts with decent sized vented discs up front. Not sure if rear discs are RX7 or O.G Piazza ones. Car has no brakes on at all but It looks like the rear was disc not drum koz the rear sheild thingy is still on the end of the axle. When the discs go on what holds them in place? Doesnt appear to be any bolts or anything, never messed around with brakes before... Will def need to run bigger wheels than 13" steels!! Will upload pics to photobucket and add them in later. Fairly certain its an LSD now... you could force it with one wheel jacked up, also the fact it had discs not drums...

chucked on tf guards from the chevini wags, all panelled, and rust free. dummy up grill to see the fit of the gem front sheetmetal. front brakes, RX7 styles... the dude i bought her from had brackets made so they actually pretty much mounted...just not sure how to secure discs onto hub and studs may be too short also... Rear disc placed on hub Disc dust shield thingy, this is how it was when i got it... just placed sedan rear shock turrets on arch to see where it will sit... thought it may foulk the action of the rear seat but fits minto! this is TF grill that came with chevini wagon, someone cut out the egg crate squares waffle jobby... cut up fuct TG grill to fit 4x TG louvres into the cut out. Gana go a Vauxhall badge in the centre, will take to plastic repairs place and check out getting it done pro... shoulfd look kinda different/cool

When the discs go on what holds them in place? Doesnt appear to be any bolts or anything, never messed around with brakes before... The caliper stops the disk from coming off and the wheel, once bolted on, holds the disks in place. Fairly certain its an LSD now... you could force it with one wheel jacked up, also the fact it had discs not drums... Now to be sure, if you jack both wheels up and spin one one way the other should spin the same way, not the other way. And remember, all Piazza diffs had disks so that doesn't mean much. Apparently they are the same rear setup as one early RX7's and RWD Mitsi's like Starions and Saporros.
