right-e-ho... back in 03 when i had my gem wags and 1st realised the chevtte was related 2 the gem i thort how bout putting a gem front on a vette hatch? my gem got smashed and my t-car fetish lay dormant amongst a sea of mazdas...then i bought a 79 vette hatch from t&e back in sept/oct 05. Came from a guy named chucky who runs his own custom paintshop out in panmure. It had been off the road garaged for aprox 5yrs. It was already painted in 2k slime green and hada lsd also came with s6 rx7 discs and front calipers (not installed) and that was about it... only had 2 wheels (u try loading a 2 wheeled car on and off a trailer, no steering rack, steering wheel, brakes/lines the list goes on. Basically i dived in way over my head. I chopped the vette nosecone off paid way 2 much 4 a parts car (bogans hero)which came with a gem engine, twin webers with new inlet/extractors and other equipment. Anyway i ended up getn carried away with the doner vette which is now almost finishd, and along the way picjked up a gem wags as well so now the chevini being my toy is well on the back burner...but still simmering!

thats tha plan dude, now its out there i gotta finish b4 sum utha c.u.next.tuesday duz it b4 me!! U kan c y id ratha do the tf/g front over the old front like yours, i was undecided till i saw the kadet c city... i think it actually suits the shape of the hatch better than the old front anyway. Looks phat as on the coupe but... Got plans 2 weld in sections of the chevtte front 2 jus to fill the gaps created by using a vette bumper up front...yal all c!

yea rims came on doner car (bogans hero) and are back on it now... they were newly powdercoated with new tyres and chrome trims b4 i got them. rears are slitely widened & running a wider tyre knt rememba what size. Problem is they are a ford stud pattern with a 15mm adaptor plate making the widened rears scrape hardout so not sure what im to do... gana roll the guards as a 1st port of call then make decisions on whether i get the hubs modded or take a ratstail file to the rims which isnt what i wana do but getn desperate... and poor!! anyone know about changing the studs?

You could put smaller tyres on them? I deffinately wouldn't change your studs. 4x100 is a mean stud pattern, changing to 4x108 or what ever it is will be gay and you will probably regret it when you want to trade up.
Looking good though man. I seen them before though. Can't wait till its all finished. Going to be something crazily different on the road!

I'm wondering what you're gonna do about bumpers. Obviously you can't run one chrome and one plastic. And you can't run a chrome with the TG front it will look silly. Are you gonna get a plastic one for the rear or run nothing? or what?

rims are on other chevette. bumpers are gana be jus std vette bumpers split in the front 2 fit wider gemi front and bkoz i like em like that with the big opening in the middle. Have already modified the brackets kos the chevtte bumper sits higher and further in. with chevini planning on welding front indicator panel off chevtte into the gap under the bumper on each side. If its sunny in the weekend will wash the cars and get sum better photos and try and mock up the chevini with the grill lites and indicator panels shud look mean jus alota measuring and cutting and welding and of course time!
