what's the legal limit with lowering? Been having a look at how far to go and my mate reckons it's lowest part of the car has to be 100mm off the ground... but that's not very low, certainly nothing like the Bradster... Seems to be what most people think - including many testing stations and Police officers BUT, an aquantance is a testing station manager and has told me it's the minimum STRUCTURAL clearance - things like spoilers and, IIRC, exhausts aren't regarded as being structural. Stupid thing is, there have been many vehicles built which have that, or less, stock!

Thats right, its to fixed structure or body or something along those lines, so the part of that which concerns old cars most (because we don't generally have lips etc) is that is does not include the exhaust. It can sometimes be a little bit tricky convincing cops that though.
My car is generally not very low. I will get some more pics up on the site at some stage but I don't drive on those wide 13's on the road. They are more just for around town or photos etc. Haha a bit poser but ohwell.
Also, I will be certing my car at some stage but it doesn't get much road use so not a worry. Thats how most people go below the 100mm point.

cheers for the info guys... yeah it's the front crossmember I was measuring from, so it would appear that I can't go that low from what you're saying. Which is ok, it should look a lot better than it does at the moment anyway.
