Ok, well so one of the joints in my drive shaft hits the underside of my car, so I'mm gonna have to cut and raise the floor where the back seat is. Faaaark. Ah well, not such a huge job really.

Use a big hammer. I've done it before, works sweet and isn't as dodgy as it sounds.

Yeah I was thinking of that, might give it a go.
New news, need bigger front brakes, so says Peter at Hopper Stoppers. So probably going to buy one of their kits. Need to sell mine.

True which join was it was sweet in my TG. With those brakes what do the guys in Aussie do when they put Commodore rears on because they must be nearly as big as the Falcon ones.

I'm half way putting those spacers in so I'll let you know if it fits after that.
In the email I think he said they usually use VT commodore fronts with the commodore rears.

It's too small when compared to my rear brakes. And I wont be able to bias it enough to set it right.

Took my engine into West Auckland Engine Reconditioners this morning. They are going to sonic test the block to make sure the bores are all good. Then strip it down and bathe it to get rid of the grit inside it. Next they will fit the 2lt crank and pistons and rods and nuts. This is going to be exxxpensive!

I'm also unsure if I want to continue using these pistons, they're onlly cast and I'd like forgies.

Well if you're spending all that dosh then the right thing to do is wack some forged slugs in there and not have to worry about it again. But its still that initial outlay thats the problem. You gotta way up whether its worth doing it all now, and risk not having it ready as soon as you thought, or just get it back together and running then worry about doing it better if something goes wrong down the track.

At the moment we (me and some other people) are leaning towards the idea that the pistons are SR20 numbers. I figure that if anything does go wrong, the weakest bit will be the pistons. Forged pistons are very very expensive, although if I find these ones I'm currently running to be SR20s then I might be able to get some aftermarket SR20 ones.
In other news, ordered my Hoppers brake kit today, so my Ben Wight Option 2 will be up for sale soon as.

Well things are starting to look up.
Getting some GemRacing forged pistons along with shotpeened rods supplied by him to suit. Ordered my double row timing chain kit and my Hopper Stoppers brakes have arrived at the freight company.
Pretty much as soon as all this gets here I can get the engine put back together and balanced and get it going. Brakes will be put on in the mean time and gotta still get the engine bay sandblasted but need to get some more info on that.
Then shocks and springs and its on. Oh and maybe a rear swaybar if I can be assed. Sadly the cage had to be put on hold as I had to pay for the brakes with it.
Still gotta sort out my handbrake cable. Grr
