Hi man I saw your gem, and your addition of a turbo I wanted to do the same to mine, what parts did you need, what did you need to upgrade, and any problems you had to overcome? Many thanks, Ash.

That EFI turbo kit on there is pretty much what I have. In fact, I started out with one of his carby turbo kits which would have worked sweet if I had not bought a dud engine (my biggest mistake).
As Mikuni says, lots of time, nuts loads of money and heaps of effort has been put into my engine. But that is because it's been a learning experience. I could do what I've done now for much less effort and cost, probably do other things as well, but this coupe has been my first car that I've really done up so you gotta learn somehow. Plus I've been a student with little to no facilities for the entire build so it's wasn't easy.
The EFI kit from Ben (that site) looks good. I'd say that unless you want to collect all the bits yourself it's the easiest way to go, saves a lot of pissing around. You will then need to get an EFI computer which, unless you build one yourself and tune it yourself (MegaSquirt), it's not cheap.
I'm just glad the hard part for me is over with this engine and now if I want more power it's pretty easy bolt on upgrades and a tune.
Any questions, fire away.

I know Im not experienced enough to do this haha but if I bought the kit, would anyone in auckland be able to fit it all in for me?

Which kit are you looking at? I can probably help fit most of it if I can find the time.

You should let us know what kind of money you are looking to spend and for what results.
Looking through those kits I think even a carby turbo option would turn out being quite an expensive convertion and for not the best end result. Around $3000 landed and I'd say you want to allow another $1000 at least to get it all setup and tuned.

And if you don't know what you are doing to tune it, I don't either, good luck finding someone who can. I called a billion people and no one seemed to be keen at all.

Oh, I have a LINK now. It's just about finding a good tuner though! Think I've found someone though but will wait for more engine mods before shelling out for a tune.
