Hey.
Just wondering if anyone has gone about turboing a carbureted gemini. Have been thinking about it and dont really want to go for injection and that sort of carry on so wondering how hard it is to do. otherwise i might have to settle fo side draughts and a lumpy cam.
cheers

settle for side draughts and a cam , the end result will be more satisfying and far easier to tune and setup, buy my manifold $400 polished cast alloy to 40mm side draughts, a grumpy na engine like dare i say it bloody brads is bloody satisfying to watch pulling in the boosted equivalents

I have personaly built 2 carbi turbo setups myself and had great success but I'm a fabricator by trade and know how to tune carbs so it was cheap for me. If I had paid someone to do it the amount of time it took me the laubor cost would be heaps around 2G easy I'd say just for labour. Carbi turbo's are for the DIY I say EFI if your not doing it your self. Here's my work hack beast this thing was mean had so many epic races in this thing. I have since ditched carbs and gone EFI. www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5073&hilit=turboed+work+hack+gemini

no mate manifold alone $400ono rare as rocking horse nuts , carbs you'll pay around $300 for solex's, $400-800 for dellorto DHLAs or Weber DCOEs in 40mm, if you're going naturally aspirated airspeed is your friend, so get the compression up the ports tidied and matched and decent cam cam grind $100 port tidy match and head deck $400 new head gasket $100 manifold $400 carbs $400 tune and balance $300
so at rough guess $1700 bucks starting from scratch with diy assembly, personally i would like to adapt my manifold to 40mm throttles off a 4age and run a megasquirt like brad on something one day maximum chaindriven revs appeal
