Focus is fixed by the filament (bulb) position and you'd need to try another bulb. Do you mean alignment? Should be adjusting screws/knobs on opposite diagonals, accessable from either the front or back of the light unit. Usually the lower one adjusts to the left or right and top is up and down.
battery clamp is a WoF requirement to stop it moving, shorting out and starting a fire - does happen! normally, I just cut off clamp rods to length - if it's too wide, you've the wrong bridge for the battery.

is that specific to tg headlights or just in general? depends on the car wether you need a clamp or not - thought u were a chevette man anyway gordo? lol
just wondering on gems wether its absolutely necessary? what type of bulbs are they btw?

not only is it a wof requirement. its also logical- imagine you crash your car or even just hit the brakes too hard, and the fvcker cathes fire or the battery shorts out and blows up. (even if you pass a wof with something dodgey- it can still be stickerd for not being up to wof requirement)
and the above desrciption for adjustment suits most cars.
aand TG gems are standard H4 bulbs.
=D

how easy is it to adjust focus on tg headlights? to adjust the focus- very very difficult. thats the answer to your question. also how long are the battery clamp bolts? long enough to hook through the holes and go through the crossbar, and still get a nut onto it. but not so long that they hit the bonnet. that- again, is the answer. is it even necessary to have one im wondering? by saying im wondering, you made this rhetorical. but the question is implied so ill answer it... yes.

Just because your battery aint fallen out yet dont mean it wont!. Guy at work had 3 wheel nuts for ages reckoned all good do drifts and all his wheel did eventually fall off he changed his mind ;D.
I had my battery fall out once in my TG obviosly it was'nt clamped in and I was doing some tight circular manovers in a large gravel carpark wich our oldschool rwd's do so well. The positive arked on the bonnet it glowed red burning the paint off and buckled it I have a new bonnet now lol.

Make sure you've got freeplay at the clutch pedal - known a few cases of slipping clutches that were fixed by a quick adjustment.

i think its just worn tbh gordo as the previous owners told me it hasnt been changed in donkeys - if ever!!! might have a play around with it tomorrow tho to see if it can be at least partly remedied. either way ive got another clutch at home i can use but want to get the whole engine out at once so i can clean the engine bay etc. apparantly burning a little oil so new rings/bearings might be in order. the engines definitely in need of a tune up at the very least & im thinking the idle might be a tad low as well. whats factory idle speed on these zz engines? its on about 5-6 rpm atm so may kick it up to 7-8 to see if it runs any better. guy reckons it may be running lean too due to a dodgy air sensor. I know the piazza sohc engine should be on about 900 so....hmmmm.
if youre in need of cash too gordo just pm me your bank info but wont be able to get it processed til tuesday obviously

I think you're right 5-6rpm is a bit slow - even 5-600rpm is on the low side, but may be the tacho' being a bit out. Just wind it up a bit until you get home and sort it out. I'll catch up with you next weekend, probably - if you make it back, of course Sort out the lights then, too, if it's still a problem.
