That seems stupidly cheap. Even $156 is good, but I guess you weren't happy with the lack of info?
I think Franklin have a base charge of $200 for any grind but I could be wrong. I used them a few years ago and found it a good experience, would definitely recommend.

Franklin did mine... but, I dunno. I was kind of expecting more. They just used a turbo grind they use for many SOHC 8-valves. I was hoping they'd make up a grind to suit, especially considering they were in contact with the guys who were building the engine.

I'm not saying it's no good, just could have been more ruthless.

Well you have done all the homework for me, will do later though as costs of Chevini build keep adding up! Nearly there, slowed Troy down with my red wagon though which he has finished repairing rust on. Spray floor tomorrow back together for WOF!

I want to get my cams done now for the c20xe. Not sure how 'big' to go yet as going too big means using omega pistons or forged ones. if only I had squillions of dollars lying around

I want to get my cams done now for the c20xe. Not sure how 'big' to go yet as going too big means using omega pistons or forged ones. if only I had squillions of dollars lying around Remember you're limited by the small piston notches for valve lift at overlap and the base circle of the cam' - too much and you'll run out of lifter travel. you could give Chad a PM and see what he's running, or get something from Kent, Piper, SBD, QED, etc. TBH, though, I'd say you should save the money for now and do high comp' pistons and cam at the same time, as you'll be able to use something with decent lift and duration without a hassle. Can't remember, are you using 40s or 45s for carb's? If the former, you may want to consider 45s or even 48s - or TBs* *Won't be using mine for a while - until body and bank balance improve markedly - so if you want to try them - a few hours work and some gaskets?

Brock - The dollar is very strong against the Pound and Euro at the moment, so try looking offshore for the required parts. You may very well be surprised at what you can pick up for around the NZ$2000 mark.
