I scored this today and the whole inlet manifold which has high flow hose tail type injectors which are almost imposible to find. The turbo is in top shape no play i'm chuffed its off a R31 Skyline Also saw a famillia looking Chevette wagon on my travels.

Sweet, you can use that to re-power the g180z then!!! cool, and the injectors will probably be all good aswell.

Yeah thats a great score for free. Did they still use T3's or had they already gone up to T25's or 28's? Either way one of them should be more then enough for your engine.
I went up for a 21st. You weren't in your gem obviously aye? I woulda waved out. I saw a cream gem wagon burning up western hills though.

I've been told there a large T25 the last of the R31 started to get the T3 then the R32 got the same spec turbo but it has a ball bearing core rather than a floating type. Its got a smaller zorst wheel and housing so its better suited to 1.6-1.8 engines from what I've read. My mate tells me the turbo has only done 16,000kms since it was rebuilt mint ;D
No I was in my work truck and I was on my way back into town from Ruakaka saw you by the Oakley caltex just south of the city I saw ya coming from a mile away. That cream wagon is quite rough if its the same one I've seen its high as aswell.

Just got back from Kaitia with my G180z which turns out to be a G200z which is all good got a free 4spd gearbox aswell. This place was a Rodeo/Isuzu engine graveyard he has several other engines/boxes but he has no idea of there condition. There's another G200z there which looks to be ok and heaps of inlet manifolds ect. The engine I got is was a runner no smoke ect he only pulled it out yesterday! its complete from fan to the gearbox! all for $80 ;D If anyone else wants some bits let me know and I will contact him.

Sweet! what a score. Would have been cooler if it was a 180 though, there so hard to find around here. Really keen to check on out, see how hard they rev ect.

I'm really keen on having a go with a G180 also. If I put a G200z crank one of my G161z's it will be close to a G180z.

That'll mean that the pistons sit above the deck though. Shorten the conrods and you'd be sweet. Wounder how it would go? Would give it a perfectly square bore and stroke. Do it!

I realise that need differant pistons or shorten the rods or maybe both not sure would be awsome dead square stroke 82mm both ways would rev really well in theroy those Aussies do it heaps most of gemracings 1600 engines have it done to them.

Yeah GR use a shorter vlt piston which i think is 86mm bore? Would be awesom to see it with the standard 82 mm gem piston. Haha its your next project Br, shortening a set of 161 rods! what would that make the capacity of the engine ? somthign around 1700 at a guess?

Um not sure on bore size for the vlt pistons I thought they were the same as a G161z With 82mm bore and stroke the displacment will be about 1730cc. Ha as for shorteng rods thats definatly a job for the engine builders I will have to do a bit of research into this engine combination I'm quite keen.

I think the bigend gets like 1mm machined out of it and the same on the small end. You can never have to many projects
