I don't run a booster at all and I like it, but others who drive my car don't seem to. I'll do the same again in the next car I build too, if its not too big or doesn't have too large a master or slave cylinders. Might not help you with doing a larger conversion that is aimed for the road, but just to let you know that running nothing is doable. Yeah understandable. I'm planning on running commodore or similar twin or four pot calipers with matching rotors, so will need a larger master cylinder. obviously trying to push a 1" master cylinder that isn't boosted will probably result in slightly less than adequate braking, or at the least, an uncomfortable daily driver. Keep in mind that I am after a road car that isn't a pain to drive short or long distances.

I couldn't agree more. Or, at most, Piazza vented units like I have on my Chevette. I use them to death on the track and they outlast the rest of the car.

i think the kit i got off zep was hopper stoppers. It had VT commodore calipers and audi disks. I Think ;D
i i remember correct, the VT calipers just had a hole drilled in a differnet place to bolt onto a standard gemini

partsmaster and repco had parts listed for the g200z piazzas. I buyded brake pads and nuts off them. I guess cos they were sold new in ausi. you could consider looking at hondas for rotors as they come pre drilled in 4x100 my mate was telling me of some honda which comes with vented disks which are suitable for running 13 inch wheels. He wants to run s4 rx7 calipers and the honda rotors so as he can keep 13 inch wheels. i have no idea if this information is acurate or relevant

Are you on drugs man? I replaced my balljoints for $30 or so, repco had them. Brake pads were around the same.. They had everything I wanted. New balljoints, pads (front and rear) , tierods, tierod ends.. Perhaps the person behind the counter is a useless mongol!

Yeah, Piazza lower balljoints aren't available. Theres a dude on the Piazza forum who sources them for a good price from the US from the Isuzu Impulse.
Thats only a problem if you own a Piazza though, the lower balljoints are completely different to those on Gemini's and Chevettes.
All parts associated with the brakes are easy to find and relatively cheap.

thought you just change the hubs over complete? only auto stop have chevette lowers at a decent price. ripco charge 60 each. dunno about geminis. piazza lowers are heaps easier to change tho as theyre bolted in. piazza forum guy(alex) has piazza lowers for 80 new.

Yea, swap the complete hub over, just gemini/chevette balljoints..

I was just going to machine the brake disc off the hub and fit longer/bigger studs, then slide a new rotor over the top that suits whatever calipers i decide to go with. Chevette rotors are cast onto the hub aren't they?
