It seems relatively simple, eh. I wonder why it hasn't been done much in Germany /etc My bet is that for the gains vs. work involved its not worth it - you could probably set it up just as well with a good adjustable damper and appropriate spring rate. Reminds me of when a few people started converting Escorts to IRS but they got spanked on a track by all the live axle versions due to weight and difficulty to setup right.

Beam axles work well on the track as it's flat - so unsprung weight isn't an issue, and the tyres are flat on the ground all the time - for best traction - no camber gain to stuff it up. However, some have raced with 'bent' beams to gain some camber for cornering.
