I Wrote this up for Crazy tim ...
Diff, to put holden gemini diff into a hatch you will be wanting to use a wagon diff prefferably - these have the sway bars and correct mounting points for the shocks & panhard rod. Can use original trailing arms & panhard rod if you wish. (If you're interisted I've a nolathane bush kit for the panhard rod? - fitted to mine, but then I bought a adjustible one...) Brake lines are too short on my sedan , will need a new piece running from the T split to the joint above the diff. You will need to redrill the torque tube mount on the gemini to fit the chevette floorpan, mine had to be redrilled about 25-30 further inward both sides... You cannot swap torque tubes over from chevette to gemini diff.
Gearbox - Im making my own g/box mount (2/3's done now, too late to stop) - I havent yet wired up the reverse selector, but from a quick look the colours are similar and a quick soldering job will be fine.. The speedo drive on mine is too short by about 2-3" - may need the gemini gearbox speedo drive input - cannot confirm as my chevette's is too short to test..
Engine, Mine is the g200w so there are some slight differences here... RH side mount bolts straight on - would recommend putting in some beefier mounts instead of the chevette items. Ford Pinto bolted straight into mine.. My LH mount is custom, however this is due to it being a g200w, Im told the 'Z' are bolt on...

Crazytim has likely lined up a person to make gearbox mounts for this conversion also...

any one else have any tips and info on installing the 200z??? To get a G200Z into a Chevette you need the engine mounts from a Gemini G161Z (standard 1600 Gemini engine) and also the sway bar from a Gemini. You put the Gemini mounts onto the G200 engine. You can put them on 2 different ways/sides. One way sits the engine very far forward, the other where it should be, up against the firewall. The sway bar gives you more clearance to the sump and oil filter because it drops down where as the Chevette one goes straight across between the sway bar mounts. Gearbox crossmember will be your biggest issue here. Unfortunately Chevette floors are a little different to Gemini ones, in that the mounts for the gearbox are further up the tunnel towards the engine. There are a few different options here; trying to adapt something using the Chevette mounts, putting something through the floor or a combination of both. I don't really think something off the shelf will work here but if you can get hold of G200 - Gemini Gearbox crossmember then it could put you on the right track to modifying/adapting something to do the trick. From here the driveshaft will need to have an end changed to work however if you are using the Piazza or a Gemini rear end then it might go together easier using a Piazza or Gemini driveshaft. The fuel system will need work depending on whether you are going fuel injected or carbureted. Even the carb systems usually use a return on Geminis (not always) so you'll need to run a larger fuel pipe regardless, however I think the standard Chevette fuel line should be up to the task of being a return.

use seat bracket for x-member. exhaust has to be custom as exhaust mani on opposite side & gearbox xmember comes straight across & blocks path of stock exhaust pipe. seat bracket bends up & over exhaust whereas youll want the xmember to come straight across. shouldnt be more than $150-200 to get someone to make something up. advise double & triple checking measurements b4 hand & have all bolt holes slotted to give yourself a bit of leeway. electric fuel pump & twin weber d/draughts. Barry White off the nikki - too many wires & nuts! (if youre going carby otherwise aftermarket ecu) gotta cut a hole for the shifter too ps: gimme your piazza front discs & calipers!
