it has a so called piazza diff in it but am wondering what i do with the front part of it. has like a front subframe thing at the end of the diff head where the d shaft bolts up. do i have to make up mounts for this to bolt to or what??
also the panahard position is on the wrong side what happens there ??
any help will be much appreciated cheers..

What you're mentioning are the two issues with fitting a Piazza diff into either a Chevette or a Gemini.
What you are refering to is known as a torque tube housing and the Chevette has a diff with a similar assembly on the front. You should be able to bolt the Piazza torque tube to the same mounting points as the Chevette's, although I believe the bolt sizes are different, possibly even the spacing.
As far as panhard rod mounting points, I'm not too sure what to suggest there other than changing the point points. The easiest way to do this would probably be to take the Chevette panhard rod mount off the Chevette diff and weld it onto the Piazza diff. If you get an adjustable panhard rod at the same time it will allow you to be a bit rough in your measurements with regards to exactly where you position the panhard mount on the diff.
I hope that provides a bit of information now and hopefully someone who has done the mod will chime in soon with some more advice.

Umm.. perhaps they are blocked up with dirt or something? Or was there another diff in the Chevette before the Piazza one? Maybe the guy took out the bolt holes. They should only be recessed holes with captive nuts I think, but they should definitely be there. I have a Chevette wagon myself and it definitely has a torque tube mounted to the body!

This is a Chevette sedan diff - its almost identical to that of the wagon, only the shock mounts are different.

This is another similar diff (it is actually a Manta diff). In this conversion, to put the diff into a Chevette the guy changed the front mount for the torque tube (as you can see from the fresh welds) and also swapped the panhard rod mount over, just as you need to do on the Piazza - Chevette conversion.

the twin cam piazza diff front bracket was about a metre wide but can be replaced with the gemini equivalent similar to in pic. the gemi ones just need the holes slotted a little, chevettes the land of imperial schizen lol,

Fairly sure all toruqe tubed piazzas had that meter wide mount thing and some Geminis had it as well. Someone on here should have a tube to spare I got one but they can break when abused so I want a spare .
