Sand/Soda Blasting

Just thought I'd add this here. Got a ballpark price to soda blast entire exterior of wagon... somewhere between $800-1000 likely closer to the $1k mark though. Thats about half what I thought it would be. Thats to bare metal!

Had a chap out to quote on sand blasting our project horse trailer we picked up from Wanganui the other week.
Was quite impressed, he reckoned it'd be tween $2-300 which I thought was pretty sweet... and an extra hundy to prime it! (primer we were going to purchase was gana be $80odd anyway! Also reckoned be 3-4 bags of blasting media, RRP $90-120 @ $30 per bag, although undoubtedly they pay consideribly less in bulk)
Said to Mrs if price comes out higher than $500 will buy some gear and do ourselves... at this price I realy cant be Barry Whiteed!

And they are mobile! Come to us... Should have got price for sandblasting an engine bay... Anyway if anyone after a fair price for stripping in Ak give these guys a try... ready for the name... (made me lol)

Gotta be careful with soda! But $400ish to blast and primer the outside of a car is pretty mean.

$400 is to sand blast & prime horse trailer frame...
Why do you have to be careful with soda? Non toxic, doesnt damage rubber or glass or steel... just eats paint and rust! (probably hurt chrome and plastics....)

was talkn to a media blaster as i fixd his truck, hed done a job the week before for a guy...
full bare metal inside and out, guy stripd all the interiour and all, and primed it himself. about 2k for (a jag or something) decent sized car. and that was sand, soda, and bead, all depending on what part of the car (to avoid warping etc)
still got his card on me for one day.. i reckon it would be about the same $$ for just the outside.
would put my OCD to rest knowing id stripd it to bare metal. find me a 2 door vette sedo and ill spend the money on it =D
