i'm seriously considering doing this conversion! rang up a guy selling a commy with v6 3.8 220k and 5 spd 1992 so was the series 2 of the 3.8's dammit! for 800bux ono but was gone! anyways was just thinking what would the handling be like if i went ahead with this engine as its most likey a heavy engine! will it corner crap ? and also i cannot find JACK on the net about this conversion as hot gemini sites down or something! also got a quote from aussie shop castle rod shop for mounting 3.8 kit yeah it was gonna be like 350 all up delivered to my door not bad i thought! but yeah if anyone has any info on this conversion i would be stoked to get something! i wanna get stuck into it come winter! also gotta upgrade the diff, brakes, and suspension hopefully can use the commys gear, anyways any help would be awesome! also considering a 4agze (like to keep it holden tho) i'm open to points of view! cheers guys

Just wait for ozgemini to be online again its definatly the place for gemini info. I recon a great conversion would be the 2.6 rodeo motor with strong internals and turboed ofcourse that would be quite powerfull in a light gemini.

I have heard that these engines are rather close in weight to the G series, so I doubt it would affect handeling too much.
There is a dude in aussie who sells very good brake upgrades, Defcon, West and I all have them on our cars.
I say go for it, totally worth a try, remember the 3.8 is EFI so you're gonna have all the computers and stuff to sort out too!

Defcon and I have option 2, West has option 3! They are HUGE!!! Yeah, we saw the twin supercharged on at Summernats, absolutely amazing car. Umm, Oldschool is down for a few days while we change severs, the host who was sponsoring up gave up 'cause he reckons he can't afford. I've sourced a new host so hopefully it'll be back up and running in a few days.

I think option 3 is more suited to a gemini that will see a bit of circuit duty. You dont really need rotors that big for street purposes, and in this respect the option 2 kit is more then you need. But if you got the extra cash why not? Only down side is it reduces your turning circle slightly.

hey defcon and zep what you think about this kit www.hoppers.com.au/brake%20kits/big%20brakes.htm i'm thinking of that kit there coz the gemini forum in aussie was saying they are road legal in aussie bit more pricey tho but there twin pot calipers not sure how much better that makes them and 300mm disks thats MASSIVE!! anyways be interesting to get your feedback not sure what kit i'm gonna get

Hopper Stoppers are aupposed to be good but remember they will change your front stud pattern to comodore pcd. Might get annoying when you want to buy mags.
