fornicate??? ok cheers gordo. i guess thats the problem then. needle wont lift. just stripped out all the old carpet today. noticed water under the drivers side. was just starting to rust but only surface. phew! may put up a project thread on this one. will be a minter when shes running. thinking of putting a g161 in instead of the tired old 1256. seen a couple of other guys on this forum have done the same thing. can you just swap over engine/trans/diff/ all bolt on?

Engine sits on mounts, need new g/box mount made up (I will be having some made for me some time soon... if you know someone who knows someone lemme know...) Diff I always was under impression was bolt straight in, found out the hard way on friday nite this is not the case... close tho... reckon just a case of slotting holes in the mounting at end of torque tube... trailing arms bolted straight up, not sure about panhard rod but adjustable ones are available. Sidenote ordered Nolathane bush kit the other day... $418+gst, does that sound about right? The dude tried the salesman pitch on me...''they actually retail at $589+ etc....blah blah but because your just so god dang handsome...'' u get the idea ;D Anyhow was $40 for 3 day freight ex Oz or wait for it to come in on their stock order (opted to save the $40... figured the 6-8week delivery would be about right anyway!)

ANY tear in the diaphram will fornicate the carb operation as it kills the vacuum that lifts the piston/needle assembly. May well have torn when opening it up tho.... fornicate = fukk.... well kinda. Its hard to sneak swear words into this site

Dude... that has been the story of the last 3 years... gana mash one into the black chevini soonish... was gana put the G200 into it but gana put that on hold whilst I learn about EFI stuff me thinks... want black Chevini on road by years end. So gana shove a G161 in and hope I don't get told by my friendly WOF man to get a cert... depends how ghetto my g/box x member ends up looking I guess... What do u people think of getting Gem G/box mounts welded in from a doner car? Would look pretty tidy then... think I have saved 2 sets from the sedans already anyway... hmmmmmmmmmmm... Spose hardest part would be making sure they are added in exactly the right position to avoid smashing the end off the gearbox every few hundred km's... Wanna re-spraybomb engine bay in satin black, need to degrease 1st and as the car has no front x member and is parked into the barn by other non running vehicles gana take a lil while to get the bay cleaned... mite just do it in barn, have wet vac to pick up water...

Remember that the floor pans are entirely different so theres no garuanty that they will go in easily. The actual width of the tunnel may even be different. You might be better off to just use a Gemini crossmember but weld in your own custom mounts to the body for it, rather than trying to graft on Gemini ones. Remember, its all about structural strength at the end of the day. Theres not a lot of strength in the floor so you'd need to add in steel somewhere along the way.

Will be nuts if you can't find a manifold. And 40mm on a 1.2 engine?
