The Torana springs are a much higher rate. The ones I have are actually Torana lowering springs and I cut them aswell. They aren't progressive rate. They are very firm. I wouldn't use them on a road only car but I think they are a good compromise for a 80/20 track car like mine.
Didn't grab the grinder when I was out there but I did mention it to Phil and he said it was out there. Not sure if he would have grabbed it though. Text him maybe.

Agreed, I was googling Kadetts and there are some epic wheels that you can get in Europe that are common over there but far from it here. It might be worth looking into those rather than going for some knock-offs that could cheapen the end product. Also, I'm beginning to wonder whether the Borbets may be a little boring, like Chris mentioned. Heres a crap photoshop, the perspective is off. But gives you an idea.

black they would look awsome. nice dish. only reason i voted for the reds was that i have a personal hate for center cap cover bits. they actually suit the car well i think

A too hate the centre caps. I took them off my average no dish Borbets and think they look much better. You could also just grind off the securing boss thats on there to make them look better again.

Again, I fail at PS but hopefully this gives you an idea. I like them in black.

I'm gonna try Treggos on the coupe then make a decision. It's so hard! Black does look cool though.

I've hunted through all my Kadett pics and can only find one on Borbets.. Granted , the car is bit nuts looking and at least the ones you're looking at have loads more dish. Still go for the Borbets over the other ones though.. And the slimmer bumpers work well too , I much prefer them to the chunkier type. Anyhoos ,you don't want 15s - you want some banded Rostyles !! or hows about these bad boys ?

or hows about these bad boys ? Those look very Jesse James (iron cross looking...) but I likes them... I likes them a lot! Why is it you are replacing your current rims leon? Why the rush? Unless theres a reason why not wait until the rim you want finds you...

I think Leon needs 15's to fit over the massive brakes he is running. Anyhoos ,you don't want 15s - you want some banded Rostyles !! Yes! I was looking for this picture just a couple of days ago. I really want to put black checkers on the roof of my wagon, I just can decide if it will look strange or not. I think I'll take a from the top picture and photoshop it up. This car is soooo awesome!

I've been trying to do some calculations re the offset of these rims. 15x7.5 0mm, & 15x8 +15mm. I have it in my mind that they will sit pretty similar, but need to work it out better.
I'm leaning towards the Borbets too (if there are still some available). Gonna test treggo's from oldcshool to see how they look. Will definitely get them coated black if I do get them. Yellow car, black rims, black bolt ons if needed. And yeah, slimmer bumpers (need to find some).

To get 15x8 to sit the same as 15x7.5 zero you'd want it to be about +6mm offset.
8 inch wheels are half an inch wider than 7.5. An inch is 25.4mm so half of that is 12.7mm. If you were keeping the offset at zero you would then add 6.35mm (half of 12.7mm) to each side of the 7.5 inch rim to make it 8 inch.
So to get the outside of the rim on the 15x8 sitting where the 15x7.5 sits you'd need to bring it 6.35mm further in towards the car, ie +6mm
I think thats right.. lol

Sweet, I was going to calculate it but I forgot. That's better though. I'd rather they were further out than in!!
And about the checker roof, It might work on your car Brad, although the black might be a bit close to the dark blue.

Tim... the main rush is that I will hopefully be able to have the car painted in the new year. If I need to use flares, I'd rather have them put on and the guards cut and stuff while the panel beating is done, rather than after a new shiny paint job has bee applied!
