ive ripd mine all out, however i havnt tried for a warrant yet... i know in aussie you can need window demisters... but my cars heater wasnt working and the cables had broken so it only pointed at my feet... and that passd warrents... safest way would be to ask at vtnz. but it is ALOT better without the heaterbox in the enginebay.
note- you will have a big square hole from the box and a round one above your feet from the piping. and without the external box thers no air intake, so you will be left with a heater core working all the time and nowhere to divert the heat. i removed everything down to the vents from the dash, and just joined the pipes (wich ill remove completely next time the engines out)

There's a place in the UK that does occasional orders for electrically heated laminated windscreens for Chevettes - if they fit. Around 200 quid, though, IIRC. [edit 260 quid!!! ] I have also heard of people using 12V PC fans and PVC ducting for blowers.

Zep: There could be a difference to having it disconnected and not having one at all... depends how retarded your WOF guy is, would think a big testing station would spot a disconnected heater hose so if it is a wof issue and you took yours thru a big wof station youd have heard aboot it.... where can one find the answer? Heaters are friggin fugly, necessary evils on a daily tho as one of u boes mentioned above.
