yet again i'm look at a engine to do in the gem after selling up my 3.8 v6 series one after finding its FAR to much work and expensive to change the 3.8 series one v6 to manual i'm looking at engines to do again!
was thinking of a rotor but there far to expensive to buy then u got ida and crap just way outta my price range
another one was series 2 3.8 v6 but manuals are hard to find they are a cheapengine to buy gearbox is a killer tho!
last option is a toyota soarer v8 but havnt researched them to find how hard it is to get a manual and weather or not a supra box would bolt up anyways i'm looking at a cheap reailabe grunty engine upgrade looking at spending 2,000 ,2500 for complete engine a box so no rotor!

CA18DET!! That'd be cool. I'm sure you could get one for about that price. And don't lots of people rip them out to replace with SR20s in their silvias?
Other option, you could try find out how much a custom bellhousing would cost for the 3.8...

I would look at turboing the stock engine. Not to hard to do imo it would cost feck all if you stayed carbed but injection is the best option. You wont find many good engine and box combo's under $1500 then there's fitting it in and all the wiring ect. Would cost heaps unless you do it yourself. Just my 2 cents

Yeah, anything non-Isuzu is gonna cost a potload. Maybe you should find a G200W haha that'd be cool. OR maybe just build an ultra high comp G200z with mega cams and Injection or twin carbs, would be pretty ruthless.

Dont worry bro my mate has 3 of those engine's and a gearbox thats he's looking to sell so if your keen i'll let him know. He got them for his courier that he was 'doing up' however he has since given up and all the nuts is siting in his shed! Also when my other mate was over in the coromandel he saw a chevette wagon with this combo. He said it was extra hardcore hori ;D

Yeah man ill ask him tonight. Prob at least one of his engines is manual cos i do remember talk of flywheels at some stage. And he definatly has the 5speed gearbox They've been siting in his shed for like 1-2 years. And hes found a new project now so hes looking to get rid of them. As for the chevette, apparently it went hard. My mate's like a Holden fanatic so he was pretty impressed. He said it had no wof or reg tho ;D not even the expired wof sticker or reg label ;D
