They are cool aye. I'm thinking about getting something a little bit crazy to widen for those slicks that mike-e is going to give me. Might do those. I was going to use my sedan wheels but they are hardly race style.
edit: after looking at the design I'm not sure it you'd be able to widen them with the way the centre looks larger than the rims.

Ive seen golfs running those wheels widened so it is possible. Maybe not using centreless styles tho.
As for those advans mike has. If they're formula ford tyres then they arn't exactly slicks so to speak. They're an all weather and long lasting tyre. I think they can last a whole season of formula ford or something crazy so theyre probably ultra hard compound...maybe not to easy to stretch as they look very square on a wheel. I'll find a pic.

Yeah I was thinking that because when I was first looking for tyres we were going to use a semi-slick if we couldn't find anything else but the tyre dude said that the stiff sidewalls don't allow any stretch. I wanna go see these tyres and measure them up to see how wide to make the wheel. If they are less than 7inch I won't bother and even at 7 inch they will be pretty normal. I want something abit crazy.
Can you track down any pics of those wheels widened? Or any euro styles like that for that matter. Its so hard to find cool pictures using google. No matter how I try to search for low Kadetts etc with wide steel wheels I just can never find anything good.

Mutha fuk i cant find any pics either but im sure im not making it up ;D some other pics of widened wheels tho: Also these guys might be worth a look if you're real serious. www.motorsport-events.co.uk/weller_wheels.htmThey do steel wheels(not widened) all the way from 13x4 to 13x10 made for racing so they are light weight. Looks like UK formula ford teams use them in 5.5x13. But over here ive only seen them use alloys i think..quite narrow tho.

Mean, Zane was talking about widening those wheels because I will probably sell it to him on those vectra wheels that my wagon is on. The look fuking cool aye. Very race styles. Sounds like those tyres may be too narrow if they are those formula ford ones. Hopefully they are the same brand but off a different class of car. I'm not going to use straight out 5.5 inch rims haha
