start of thread then i have somewhere to post progress etc, got diff apart today, huge meke 30 sumthing spline axles , test fitted axles to detroit locker and greased every thing, wiped out old oil etc before fabrication, looking at options for setups ladder bars versus liks etc

had a bit of a fail with my b16 conversion going to borg diff with 3.08 gears, and have just bought 3.23 lsd diff from an xd, b16 diff now a spare for the ute i smell bag mounts and 4 link

I have a borgwarner shortened for the TG I only got a 25 spline LSD Will hold up with my driving I dont do line locks and doughies very often. I'm assuming you want or have a 28 spline center problem with them is axles 5stud ones cant be re drilled to 4stud and finding 4stud axles is a mish I got two in my horde of axles though.

i'm yet to receive the diff dude its in the the wops down taranaki, its a 3.23 out of a 302 xd coon, so will see how many spline it is, i'm thinking of avoiding shortening axles etc and getting billet ones from ozzy, you can get a borg minispool for relatively cheap though too much abuse and you will break something, my w50 box is renowned for being a bit slow thru the synchros so will be taking it easy, i want to shorten it to a little narrower than the oe diff as my mags have so much offset, how much spline did you have left after shortening to gemi width?, r3o and 31s etc with the solid axle ran borgs with 4 stud unsure of spline count tho

would be keen to come have a look next time i'm up the rei visiting the old man, i want to retain a one piece driveshaft preferably and use vn lower arms and a upper arm retrofit to work like a 4 link maybe utilising the two spare lower arms i have and the original torque tube mounting points possibly bridged to the gearbox mounts for strenghth, rather than just press out the gemi tubes etc

I've only got as far as shortening the housing I did at one stage have it all bolted in with a third top arm in the center and a modified 2 piece commie drive shaft. I've gone off the top arm idea cause I cant go low enough with it. I'm getting back into sorting it though maybe even have a look at it right now The 4 stud axles I have are r31 ones there 28spline. For my setup I was gonna get some axles cut and welded use the Gemini flange end with a Commodore 25spline on the other end the axles are the same dia just different spline. I know cutting and welding sounds dodgy but the hot rod place up here does em like that all the time.
