So on the test drive, kinda spat the diffs pinion gear clean out the carrier housing...
Replaced one frost plug, but now due to increase pressure have two more leaking, so will pull the motor out and replace all of them. Need to put other gearbox in too, as the remote shift that I had shortened doesnt quite select 1st or 5th...
Have put a deposit on another disc brake diff, but this one is lsd from japan..

how much for the lsd? from where/what website? if you have any trouble i speak pretty good japanese & can also read & write fairly well

yahoo japan, Getting Ewan to sort it out (hayatonka) , although brothers girlfriend so I found out does alot of consigments from japan so I might be able to get it to arrive sooner

Got the wagon going again!
Electronic dizzy converted and in, new clutch release bearing, engine mounts. New cam chain tensioner.
Turns out what caused my problem is the E clip that holds the tensioner on, fell off, causing the tensioner to move/wander, chain to slacken and snap.
Fixed all that..

Stoked. At least it is an old tech single cam engine and the head is safe. Would have been horrible if that happened on the twincam!

just went and gassed the Chevette Estate up with 98 for tomorrow... everytime I turn the key I remember why I bought it, despite the poorness it and all my other motoring mistakes has caused.
