If prozac doesnt have an angle grinder, then I could borrow the olds, but you'd have to pay for the cutting disc's & shipping still..

True, I had thought of that but to be honest I think it will be cheaper for me to get some welded in that get someone to fabricate something. From what I can see they go straight on.

so thats from the chevette tuning manual. It shows how to add factory vertical turrets hhaha even has the part number for them. It gives the correct measurements as to where to weld them in. Think im gona do this if i can ever find i nice cheap hatch for my 13b to find its home.

Yup, ive got a couple of angle grinders knocking about, cutting disks cost me next to nothing from work so dont worry about that. You know how i need some decent rear tail lamp lenses? Ive found some at a wreckers; $80+gst, each! Fuuuuck. Anyways, If you've got any I'll swap ya? I'll try and cut the turrets out today.

I'm assuming that the diff I'm getting soon is going to present me with the same problem. I'm not sure whether to get turrets fabricated (or nick them from another dead chevette/gemini) or get the spring cups and strut/panhard mounts swapped over.
It would be great if I could roll down to my nearest GM dealer with the part numbers and get those turrets, but I'm thinking not...

Yeah but you dont need to these days. That book was writen back in the olden days when chevettes were still new. Can just find a chevette/gemini sedan at a wreakers and cut them out of that for next to nothing. Im going to go check out a chevette sedan soon to grab some parts off so maybe if i find it you can grab the turrets off it

I think that wreckers is car breakers. I asked them if they had a chevette and the Mrs Funt'maRunts said no. He's a grumpy Mrs Funt'maRunt too so he'll probly get Barry Whiteed off if I go out there and ask again haha. Barry White him man.. holding out special chevette parts on us. I'm gunna be getting those turrets if I can but hopefully chris can get those gem sedan ones so there will be plenty to go aorund for all us hatch/wagon bastards! ;D

@ Jaygti, with the gemini being a sedan, the shock mounts are different (to the hatch), also it didnt come out with a rear sway bar... So you may have to go to an engineer if you want to use the chevette sway bar & shock mounts. Other than that, the whole diff & d/shaft is out, and have disassembled it so it fits on the pallet nicely. Zac strapped it all up nicely for me as well, will take it to the depot tommorow and send it to you.
Everyone else, I've got all the bits for you and will be sent within the next week or so - providing you've paid.
Thanks Prozac for the tools & rattle gun , would've taken ages otherwise. Had the diff out within 2 hours, and that was with pissing around and such. - If you ever need/want a hand working on the Chevette, or with the swap/s (Engine & other we were talking about) I'd be more than happy to help out.
Cheers,Chris

So you may have to go to an engineer if you want to use the chevette sway bar & shock mounts. That's what I was thinking as one option, get an engineer to swap/re-engineer the shock and swaybar mounts so the diff fits the standard turret set-up. Cheers for the heads up though, will be looking forward to getting the project moving again.
