I'd like to get myself a dremel tool and have a go at porting my head. Has anyone else tried this or know where some instructions are?

I rekcon you should jsut have a search around the net for generic porting manuals. Most of them will be relevent to older style heads as newer ones apparantly don't get that much gains from porting.

I've done it with a Dremel - takes one heck of a long time! I'd recommend using a full size electric or compressed air die grinder for the roughing work and the Dremel for the fine work. If you have a look through my earlier posts on this forum, you'll find a fairly long post with miscellaneous details of what I've done. Ah, found it - nzgem.proboards51.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1178738194&page=1Also, have a read of this www.chevettes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12326Just take your time, it's easier to keep them similar if you do a little at a time in each port using your fingers to feel the contours. If you're not sure what you're doing, it may be a good idea to leave it for a friend with better skills and/or get a spare head (perhaps not a Chevette one) to practice on. It's not that difficult but does require a lot of care.
