Hey fellas, just need some thoughts and ideas on a diff for my gemini wagon, i have just completed an engine transplant, looking to make around 200-250+kw and maybe more in the year ahead. Car is driveable at the moment on 180kw, but just on saturday i popped the bearing out from the diff where the driveshaft connects. Stealy gears in Auckland reckon i should just pop it back in make a spacer or a bracket and it'll be sweet, but i would like to upgrade the diff to something better and something that will handle the power i want to achieve. Any ideas will be awesome. Cheers postman

Bloody hell! What engine have you go in there??
To be honest, your best bet would be to jam a hilux or something in there. 'Burntrubber' makes up some nice diffs using parts from commodores etc, so he might be worth talking to also, but I think he may be pushed for time these days.
The reasoning behind using a diff such as a hilux or comodore and 4 linking, or using a ladder bar setup is not only to have a stronger unit, but also to stray away from the dirty torque tube design that our cars and the earlier piazzas used.

I will do the swapping of the mounts from the Gemini diff over to a short enough Hilux diff again but not much els. I have to many family commitments to worry about now and then theirs work not even much time for my own s**t
