Hi guys I am in Australia and i am putting together a Gemini Coupe with a C20XE engine to run in state level rallies in Aust.
So currently i have an ex Holden Calibra CosCast Head C20XE fully built ready to fit to the car but getting a suitable gear box and bell housing is proving to be hard or very expensive if you buy the bell housing and so on out of the UK
I have read a lot of threads on here and need some help finding parts info from these threads.
1. C20XE RWD bell housings - What gear boxes where fitted to cars in NZ in a rear wheel drive configuration and C20XE engine ? - What gear box adaptor plates and/or bell housings are available for the C20XE in NZ ?
2. Quick Ratio steering Racks - I have seen in a couple of threads (one from Freindlyfire in particular) shows a quick rack (rack and the pinion) to suit the Gemini standard steering rack. Can someone please tell me what these are from or where they are available ?
Also i noticed a number of guys looking for C20XE engines, i am in Sydney and there is a few of them floating around in Sydney. If anyone want to get one out of Sydney i am more than happy to get it and pack it ready for you guys to organise freight over to NZ.

Hi , I am also building a Gemini coupe for rallying in NSW . I have an answer to your problem about the selection of gearbox suitable for the c20xe convertion to rear wheel drive. I have cnc machined an adaptor to adapt a Nissan Skyline gearbox. Haven't finished everything in this kit ( flywheel , spigot bearing , etc). I was led this way after seeing that most people in Europe use the Sierra box , which isn't available in Australia. If you did obtain 1 it would be expensive & unless you put in some Quaif intenals , a bit fragile. The Nissan box will be strong enough & there are plenty of options for making the ratios closer or into a dog engagement.

VN Commodore 4cyl Gearbox I believe would be the ticket. This is the gearbox Mikuni used behind his Ecotec Vectra motor. The C20XE actually isn't common at all over here. Plenty of the Ecotech series motors. Opel Manta's are a good source for the gearbox along with Sump etc, however they within themselves are rare enough without Pillaging them for that. This should be a must read for the both of you.. nzgem.proboards.com/thread/230/1980-chevette-wagon?page=6

As far as the quick rack goes you can order one from TJ motorsport in the UK. I fitted one in my UK rotary chevette and then brought another back to NZ which I sold on to Sean (Friendly fire) a few years back. I think they are about 120 pounds for the rack and pinion.
For the sump you need the Opel A series 1900 alloy sump iirc
