Hi guys
I'm after a idle shut off valve for the carburetor. If anyone knows where I could find one or one that would be the right fit please let me know. We have just disconnected it and it seems to be running fine, does anyone know if it even needs to be replaced, and what problems my occur if its not replaced? My mechanic is unable to find the part.
Thanks

On older engines, their sole purpose is to allow the throttle to close completely when they're de-energised (turned off) when the ignition is turned off - it's to prevent running on, or dieseliing, when you turn the engine off. They are different from the idle speed controllers that will adjust the idle speeds on modern cars and, if you have a steady idle, then I wouldn't worry about it.
