Hoping to do the odd track day here and there but the factory chevette brakes are a bit poo.
I have a set of 14" mags on at the moment to fit the brakes within. Gemini diff with drums on the back, factory Chevette discs on the front at present.
I've read that people upgrade these using, Commodore, Gemini and Piazza Turbo brakes all with their positives and negatives.
Ideally I'm looking for something that is affordable, easy enough to fit and easy to get replacement parts for.
What brake upgrades have youse fullas done to your cars, and what would you recommend?

Piazza brake upgrade, break your top & bottom balljoints, swap the complete stub axle over with caliper, rotor everything attached and you're good!
2 & 1/2 times the pad surface area, 230mm vented rotor as opposed to solid discs.
Simply as pie.
Wouldnt bother doing a gemini one, its not what I would call a upgrade, still solid disc and similar pads (may even be the same?)

I wouldn't bother with piazza 230mm vented ones if you want them for track days I have them on my Gemini aswell as piazza disks on the back and I get brake fade on the windy northland roads I have good pads and fluid. I'm currently upgrading the diff to commodore so much bigger brakes there and the front I'm going to use BMW e30 266 mm disks with s5 rx7 4 pot calipers this should all fit under my 14" steels.

cool, cheers guys. Excuse the noob-ness, but will I need to replace the brake booster for either of these options?
Will probably go for the E30 BMW option as I can imagine it would be easier to get pads etc for those vs Piazza bits.

Another option is the Piazza TURBO' disk setup - as above, swap the lot over - if you can find a set. They're quite a bit bigger than the NA Piazza discs. As for pads, if you can't find a suitable set, you can have new pad material of your choice bonded to the old backing plates.
I don't think you can still get them, but if you can, the Metalking sintered metallic pads are f***ing good - plenty of bit when cold and still biting strongly when a nice bright shade of red hot!
You could use the EOM brake booster and master cylinder, but can expect a longer brake pedal - perhaps a Piazza or Gem' one with a larger bore can be fitted? You may also need to look at the bias/pressure limiting valve to the rear brakes, to get the best brake balance.
Forgot - IIRC, the taper for the tie rod ends are larger for the Gem'/Piazza steering arms, so you'll need them as well.
