I'm moving to Perth at the end of March so this needs to go. Current WOF until 27 March and Rego til end of June.
Mighty 1256cc with a 4speed. About 95,000kms on the clock (hasn't been around) but engine was replaced with another that had done similar km's (2 that were sitting for 10years). Fitted louvers, original spoiler and flush headlights (fairly rare items).
Is in running order but has not been driven in about 2 months due to an exhaust leak at the flange where the manifold meets the exhaust (has become a mish of a job as 3 of the studs have been welded onto the manifold at some stage so needs to be cut out, drilled and rethreaded. Could probably do with a fuel filter change as well which I may do this weekend but runs well as is. Paint is in rough condition with surface rust here and there, worst of the rust has been cut out and plated up already. Looks alot better in the picture but has more of a ratty appearance in person which I prefer, but it would benefit from a paint job.
Can struggle shifting into 1st and reverse but after it has been driven for a short distance it frees up fine (have been told it may be due to a build up of corrosion on the input shaft causing the clutch to not engage properly and 'should' free up over time). Wasn't an issue for me as it was ok to drive when I was dailying it in october>november before the exhaust leak.
In my ownership I have done a fair amount to tidy it up including:
-Oil + filter change
-Ramflo Airfilter fitted + breather filter.
-New gates fan belt.
-New NGK Plugs, points, cap & rotor.
-New Bosch uprated ignition coil.
-Murray at Weber Specs checked over and 're freshened' the carb before my ownership.
-Mint Viva radiator swapped in.
-Fitted new overflow bottle.
-New Rad hoses.
-New Thermostat.
-Coolant flush and change.
-New trans and diff fluid.
-New FL lower ball joint.
-Cobra 'Low' springs all round with Shorter Monroe Gas Reflex GT Shocks.
-New oil cap.
-Front Calipers rebuilt with new pads.
-New Narva 120plus bulbs.
-Refurbished Blacks Racing wheels with brand new tyres all round.
-Front splitter chin spoiler fitted.
-Datsun Fairlady style wing mirrors fitted,
-Rear windows refitted to a 'fixed' position professionally.
-Rust cut out of the rear and patched up, rust in fenders patched up, side mirror holes welded up.
-Autodec carpet fitted (not the best fitting, turned out the carpet was stitched, not moulded and had to be trimmed down (wasn't perfect)).
-Vinyl dyed seats black (looks awesome and new!).
-Sony headunit fitted, fusion 6" and boss as Kicker boxed speakers in the rear (Barry Whiteing awesome) + fusion slimline 8" sub & amp combo.
-Underbody re undersealed.
Things that need to be done:
-Fit correct water temp sender (old one didn't work and I replaced with one from the earlier model so gives off incorrect temp).
-Fuel gauge not working (think it is the sender unit but not 100% sure as I had it working previously.
-Rust starting to appear in engine bay (under battery and window squirter reservoir) Only looks like surface rust currently as I had a jab at it and it felt fairly solid.
-Rust in spare wheel well (haven't had a recent look at it yet but pretty sure it is just surface rust from memory).
-Bog lifting on guards and doors from previous rust repairs.
-Small oil leak somewhere (it is british...) Think it may be from the crank seal.
-Could probably do with new brake shoes for the rear in the Near future.
-Hoodlining Glued to ceiling.
Offers over $2000 As is.
Tis a sweet cruiser that gets all the looks. Had a lot of old geezers spinning yarns about their old ones or parents Shuvits they used to thrash about
Can contact me on 02102913650.
Cheers
Tai.
