Yeah it's better. But we needa nz based gemini forum. It amazes me how there is little information on here about geminis. Very little support on here for people looking for parts ATM. The gm-t forum should make a presence at the rott nats and have stickers printed. Also a fb page would help with attracting t car owners

What t-car owners? We've currently got over 200 members, my guess is that that's probably more than the number of t-cars in the country!
We're only ever going to have a small member base, that's not going to change unless the number of t-cars expands some how?
Currently there's probably 20 users that put in a big effort to check the site regularly and keep the place ticking along. It has gotten a lot quieter recently from the forums peak a few years ago, but if you've noticed, most forums have. I guess it's the economic climate - people are having to turn away from their cars for a while to keep everything else on track perhaps? I don't really know.
The amount of information on this site is vast. I'm fairly certain that most questions about t-cars have been answered on here, but it can be a little hard to find. Some of these recent questions and parts requests are quite specific and there's a chance that we might not have the answers! I mean who the heck has an A-pillar that they can just cut off a car and send the length of the North Island. I am amazed that request was met. And putting a g161z head on a g200 is something that has been talked about a lot on here to raise compression, but as far as I know, no one has actually done it yet, so we can't really throw the pro's and con's around or give a power figure.
If you can't tell, I think it's a bit rude to turn up to an establised forum and tell us how and what we should do. We've had cars at the 4 and Rotary Nationals. We've put the word out there. We've been around for years. Where have you been?

I guess some people aren't open to constructive critisism. Considering that oz gemini has 10 000 plus members I think 200 could be expanded a little. If you want evidence of this consider that if you google Holden gemini newzealand even scrapys that haven't had gemini parts in years have a stronger web presence ( search engine optimisation for those who are not stuck in the ways of trade and exchange and writing hand written letters aheem ). Was just a comment that a bit of marketing Combined with a more user friendly interface might really get things moving. Sorry to twist your knickers

Not sure if you realise the person who started this forum thus pretty much owns it also started oldschool.co..nz if you go back to some of the older posts you will see .gm-t was only started as a pet project and wasn't expected to last. Mikuni is quite right, you've appeared out of nowhere, contributed nothing and started slinging around ideas that have already been thought of but no one has put their hand up to do. How's about starting a project thread and showing us your bucket of bolts and getting to know us a bit before going straight into harassment mode. Your not 100% wrong, this little group could do with a shake up... just your method is a bit too 'F yal' It's pretty hard too as everyone is spread over nz so can't organise meets etc... We are never going to achieve numbers anywhere near that of ozgem either due to our coastal country, small population and bad weather tinworm has claimed most of our stocks of t cars. (Small pop meaning we didn't have the vast numbers oz would have to begin with.) Are you on oldschool.co.nz? Way more active and lots of knowledge on there although not t car specifically... few members with very nice gems on there who pretty much don't bother with gm-t. I wish the situation were different but it is what it is.

I'm more than happy to start a thread of my project.ive taken photos of every stage for that reason. Who would I talk to about the possibility of me printing car club stickers? My uncle owns a sign writing company I could prob organise very easily!

Some good idea's but I agree with Tim & mikuni here. Theres a group of core guys that are regularly on here, and aside from the busier Oldschool , it makes for a nice simple change - theres no real attitudes, keyboard warriors etc - everyone contributes.
Theres so little amount of people that're active that it makes it hard to organise specific Meets for Gm/T cars. You could invite piazza owners or Opel owners to enlargen the circle but they arent strictly all GM/T cars. I for instance know of a handful of gemini's in chch, most have passed hands (including my wagon) and some of those people arent interested in the whole club thing

My 2 cents worth is for you to have a go and create your build thread. there are some really good guys who contribute regularly to this forum and are well known on other forums, not going to name names but the ones I know are all good buggers willing to offer advise and also get into debate (making interesting reading) I don't have my build thread on this site (because I don't own a GM-T car myself) or any other NZ site (for my own "other" reasons) however my son is a member here and has his chevette which we have both worked on, so I like to keep an eye on whats happening in the Chevette scene. Well worth starting your thread and gaining some respect from the core contributors (I am not one) start at the beginning, contribute, gain respect and once your finished you can think about things like attending shows and club stickers.

Personally, I look in every day but seldom have a reason to post - whether that makes me active or not is up to you'se ... Regarding the parts situation, as someone (Brad?) said, we just don't have a huge collection of parts due to space and demand - I've a few Chevette bits left, including some body stuff like doors, front fenders, etc, but the higher demand stuff either gets used or is being held onto because they can be hard to find and are succeptible to requiring replacement - like Chevette indicator/dip switches.

I did some research today. There are 382 geminis registers for road use in nz. Only 7 piazzas . I would imagine over double the numbers if you take into account all the on hold cars for restoration. If anyone needs parts gimmie a bell I've got 3 spare g200z and a g161 all in running condition. Only 1 efi setup tho.

I did some research today. There are 382 geminis registers for road use in nz. It might be a silly question, but does that include the later model FWD Gemini's or did you limit the search to the early RWD models only? It's certainly more than I expected, but if you bear in mind how many people on multiple cars and also how many people are uninterested in the whole "online" or "club" thing, I'm still confident that we are doing well for 200 registered users with such a limited base of vehicles.
