Just took the Chevette for a drive and noticed that its bogging down in second. Tried both revving steadily and heavily and would just bog down and splutter about. 1st, 3rd and 4th there isn't any issue however.
I have only driven this a few times and hadn't noticed it before.
So far have just changed the air filter and coil for a bosch gt40t. Seem's like an ignition issue. I have all the other distributor bits that i'll throw in tomorrow but why would it only be doing this in second gear?
If anyone can help that would be sweet.
Cheers, Tai.

About the only thing that would be 2nd gear specific would be a problem with the gearbox in 2nd gear. Darned if I can think of anything. Wouldn't hurt to check the filter mesh in the top of the fuel pump, if it's used on the one you're using - Ithink it was just the very early ones that used it, but there should also be one behind the float valve in the carbie. Any difference pulling the choke out - if there's a pinhole leak in the carb' diaphram, that sometimes helps.
I'd try and get it to do the same thing in the other gears, and try disconnecting the vacuum advance hose - the plates wear and can cause the points gap to fluctuate and can cause a misfire.
