has anyone had rust in this spot before? it is all around the battery tray and through the inner guard. also drivers floor and spare wheel tray are not to happy

battery tray is the 'standard' rust site, also the pother side under the water bottle, the footwells and sometimes the boot area. Other places can occur as well, depending on what sort of life it's had. The good news is that patch panels are usually available, the bad news is they have to be imported and can work out quite expensive.

the drivers footwell is rusted quite badly but am just patching it and a bit in the boot and for the battery tray im just bending up a bit of sheet mild steel as a replacement

That pics not really working aye, it's super small.
That carb would be all good, but probably not worth doing unless you're doing other work like porting and putting a decent exhaust on it. You'll also need to make up a new intake manifold for it to work, so probably not worth the cost at this stage. Wait till you do other things.

yeah sorry about rubbisht tiny pics the big verson wont upload as to many kb , but car is all drivable now and just have to weld in a new boot(rusted out to) then it can go for a wof and the carb was just an idea i will be making my own flows i have allready made a 1.75" straight flow exhaust no baffels at all jus a resonator sounds nice

any of ya's had issues getting the heater fan surround back into the engine bay? i cant get mine to go together, dosent help the previouse owner stripped engine bay and filled in all the screw holes with weld dont know what he was thinking
